Hi I have a question for this school i saw the CTE date for this school is 4/30 so how come can people still withdraw acceptance in May? also if everyone has CTEed back then, why is there barely any waitlist movement afterward I thought the school can see the exact number of students who commit
I'm pretty sure 4/30 is the plan to enroll deadline, not commit to enroll. I'm not entirely sure when the CTE deadline is but I don't think it's until sometime in July. I may be wrong though.

You’re right. The CTE date is actually July 1st at 5 pm EST

There's still hope for the rest of us! June is gonna be a long month.

I've noticed that barely any waitlist movement happened during May. I think only around 5 people posted that they got acceptances from the waitlist. Isn't it usually more? Do you guys think there's going to be a lot of waitlist movement during June?

So, please remember that a lot of people don't use/post on SDN. While only 5 people posted about getting accepted, more than 10 people joined the class facebook group in May which could potentially be representative of more acceptances.

Just got accepted off the waitlist today! Email received around 9:45pm. I was surrounded by family and was able to enjoy this moment with them. I honestly had no hope for getting in, I had accepted that silent R.

Anyone still on the waitlist: keeps your head up. You could get that acceptance letter when you're least expecting it. I had 3 admissions counselors from highly ranked medical schools (MD & DO) schools here in my state tell me that the chances of me getting into med school were slim with my stats and that I should set my sight on lower-ranked DO schools. Stay positive, trust the process, and don't let yourself be your own worst enemy.

I took the MCAT 3 times. This is my second cycle applying. 500 was the score I applied with. 3.53 overall GPA. Don't lose hope and don't let anyone get in the way of achieving your dream.

You actually got it at 9:45 PM and not 9:45 AM? I've been giving up hope checking my email after 5 pm M-F but now I've got hope to keep an eye on it 24/7 now. Congrats! So happy to hear you got in!

Really inspirational thanks for sharing your story and congratulations!!! If you don’t mind me asking, are you OOS? And when did you interview?

9:45 PM! It was very unexpected. I saw the little red notification on my phone and assumed it was some sort of spam email or an online tracking order update hahaha

Anything new? Should i lose hope lmao

Do you guys think any more people will give up their acceptance? I'm on the waitlist, but I'm starting to give up hope.
This is my first time applying. I interviewed at 3 schools including CMU. I got waitlisted at two and CMU hasn't told me anything since my interview. Got word yesterday from the school I thought I had the best shot with that they don't anticipate giving out any more spots. The other school I know will be a silent R so CMU is pretty much my last hope, but I've been expecting the worst for a while now. They have been accepting students off the waitlist for months now. The least they can do is give those who haven't heard anything yet an R so we can finally escape this limbo.

I have a feeling they’ll just send out mass Rs July 1st after their CTE deadline

Hi guys, I made this account just to tell everyone to keep your HOPES UP!!! I got accepted on Monday at 8.45pm from the waitlist. Things are moving still 😀 keep a positive mindset!!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!

congrats! I'm still on the waitlist; if you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA and MCAT score?

I withdrew my application a few days ago after not receiving an initial decision. I initially had a good impression of the school but I am frustrated that I never received a decision nearly 5 months after my January interview. 😵

Just waiting for that July 1 R at this point. Will definitely be making a call to admissions if it doesn’t come

This is just ridiculous. It’s been almost a year since I submitted my secondary. As a non-traditional, OOS applicant with a full time job, even getting an A in July when the semester starts early August doesn’t seem very plausible to me. At this point I’d prefer it if CMU could’ve given me an R before I wasted my time and money interviewing. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the school and resonate with their values and mission completely, but the least they could’ve done is provided an update on my application status after my II back in January. Honestly, I’m just going to give up hope at this point and pretend I’ve already gotten the R. If I don’t hear back by July 1st I’m withdrawing my app.

This morning at 9:13am EST via email I received an update stating that my application is still under consideration on the wait list. They mentioned that " The admissions committee will continue to make offers to applicants on our wait list until mid July." They requested another update letter/letter of intent sent directly to their admissions team to confirm my continued interest to remain on the wait list.

+1

Did anyone receive a confirmation email after submitting a letter of intent?

Did anyone here apply early decision to CMU or know anyone who did and if so, would you recommend it?

Did anyone receive a confirmation email after submitting a letter of intent?
Nope. I don't think I have received a confirmation email from CMU this cycle for anything but I could be wrong.

Just got my R via email. Can’t even call admissions to ask for improvement suggestions. Instead we have to sign up for an “application workshop” in the spring

I was rejected earlier in the cycle and received personalized feedback. DM me if you want and I can try to help you if we have similar stats.

Did anyone who wrote a LOI last week receive an update today?

Haven't heard anything from them yet. I'm thinking that updates will most probably be sent at night since that seems to be the general trend with the last several WL movements.

Just got accepted off the waitlist today around 3pm! I honestly was giving up on waiting and ready to look into graduate programs. Don't lose hope guys!
Congrats! Mind sharing stats? I really hope I get an A soon.
