2019-2020 Columbia VP&S

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Very short and sweet. They were thinking about our interview and enjoyed meeting me. If I have any questions about Columbia going forward, reach out. I never reached out post-interview bc I was kinda waiting to see if I would even be accepted first, but this also means, idk where they got my email from...

I got a similar email out of the blue back in December! Interviewed in September

Okay. Maybe they're on a schedule? I interviewed late October. It should be illegal to send any emails in February/March that aren't concerning admission. These schools are gonna give someone (*me*) a heart attack...🤢

Who knows. At this point i've decided to forgo any sort of speculation/conspiracy until a decision is in my hands. Upping my anxiety for things like this is no longer worth it (and won't change the outcome haha)

Pre-II R (finally). love the "this EMPHATICALLY does not mean we believe you are unsuited for medicine" like lol thanks imean was kinda hoping that..

Is the consensus that Basset pre-ii rejections are not predictive of when NYC campus post interview decisions will come out as they would be if they were NYC pre-ii rejections?

Let's try to avoid stressing this cycle! My username says it all (why I picked it), anxiety won't change a thing 🙂

go for a nice run, laugh with friends, celebrate valentine's (if that's your thing), enjoy the weekend!!

Says the person who already holds an admission from stanford.... LOL. great advice, but please remember there are many here whose future is far less certain than yours. Congrats on all your successes!

I have held the same beliefs this entire cycle, not just when convenient (again, why I chose the username even before my first primary went out). My fiance can work in NYC and if I get accepted here we can finally be together after 4 years in a really tough LDR.

Don't forget we all have hopes and dreams this cycle!

Have people already begun submitted their CSS to this school or are y'all waiting for an initial decision?

We should really assume worst-case scenario last day of February, first week of March. That way, we won't think about it and be pleasantly surprised when it comes earlier 🙂

Would anyone who received an email from their interviewer be comfortable enough to post their interviewer‘s initials ? At this rate I’m emotionally bracing myself for impact.

I had the admissions rep reach out to me again a little bit ago, but not either interviewer. Darn 🙁

Rip hearing back today. I really feel like next Friday is the perfect day

Let's just say that this is accurate 😉

What's the IS acceptance rate?

38% so a pretty decent difference. I’d imagine IS people probably have an easier time expressing why Columbia especially considering that they had a pretty big emphasis on serving the communities directly around campus. They also interview waaaaay fewer IS than OOS so it could be just be due to randomness and not some quality that IS interviewees possess
