Interviewed 2/18 and checklist + matriculation agreement has shown on portal!

My prereqs say I'm missing 3 semester hours of English, but I completed 2 semesters of English and Composition courses with 4 units each and 1 semester 3 units course. What does this mean?

Also, one of my English and Comp classes was called German R5A, which may be a cause of this issue? It is listed as English and Comp on my transcript.

Call and ask for a direct answer. You can also email through portal.

Same. I’m wondering how many spots they still have open at this point?

Not sure, but they have a pretty big class. Keep checking the page as people will withdraw and what not. I was initially scheduled for 4/7 but ultimately rescheduled to 2/17.

Has anyone that interviewed 2/24 heard back yet?

Anybody (especially current students) know if it is reasonable to live in downtown phoenix and make the commute everyday? Judging from online it looks like it would be a 25-30 min drive each way.
I'm not a current student, but I live in the Glendale area. It definitely wouldn't be hard to commute back and forth from the Phoenix area; however, there are also a lot of discounts for nearby apartments in the Glendale area. Glendale will also be MUCH cheaper than Phoenix

Is there any affordable apartment (around $1k per month) that is friendly to large dogs? I have a 100lb golden retriever that I plan to bring with me. I've been looking but only found one place.
Look into Paseo Park! It's about ten minutes from campus and I lived there throughout my undergrad career and its been great. I think its between $800-1085 for a one room place. There's also a list on the schools website for places that give discounts to Midwestern students

I was told by one of the admissions counselors said that they don’t hold any interviews in March.

Explains why I didn’t see any when I scheduled my interview. Luckily 2/17 opened and I didn’t have to use PTO. Just very tired the next day lol.

They might be figuring out how many to outright accept when April interviews roll around since I was given till 3/29 to pay deposit.

Thank you for letting me know.

I would have changed mine to another date in Feb if I wasn't an international applicant 😵 I'm glad you were able to go early. Hope the interview went well!

official email came in today :soexcited:
timeline for anyone wondering
Verified: Early July?
Primary Sent: 11/28
Secondary Received: 12/2
Secondary Sent: 12/2
File Complete: 12/8
II Received: 1/9; Interviewed: 2/20
Stats for anyone who cares: GPA: 3.8X / MCAT (taken 3 times) 500 -> 504 -> 507

This interview stressed me out quite a bit. I felt like I was not impressing my interviewer whatsoever and none of the questions asked were related to my application. Nonetheless, I guess it worked out!
I felt the same about my interview. Congrats buddy

Can someone say how good the dual DO/mph program is? I hear it's a relatively new program.

I can only go off what what was said about it from the M1 and M2's we talked to during the interview process. they said it eats up most of your time over the summer to do research which is a basically a requirement to go into residency with any sort of competitiveness. I got the impression that its good but you should chose research over it and you can't really afford to do both.

Interviewed 02/25.
The "Applicant Checklist" changed for me, showing "Required Prerequisites." I don't have an "Accepted Checklist."

Does this mean I've been waitlisted?

Thanks. I think the site said the dual program can help you get into research which was the reason I was considering it. I guess that's not really the case and doesn't seem worth it anymore for me.

Got an interview invite this morning! Ended up withdrawing, so I hope it goes to one of you lovely humans still waiting!

can students who already interviewed comment on where they stayed? I'm an international student so not familiar with the area, or the state for that matter, lol

I stayed at Drury Inn Happy Valley. They had a shuttle in the morning drop us off and pick us up after so that was nice. Definitely pick from the list that the school has provided because I think most of them will provide you a discount.

I Just checked the portal and saw two interview dates in May; May 4th and 8th. So school is still sending II invites. I thought this might be good news for those who are waiting to receive an invitation.

Hi guys! So i'm filling out some documents for financial aid. This is Step 2. Usually, is there a consensus on whether it's good to choose Maximum eligibility for both Direct Unsubsidized Loan and Direct Graduate PLUS Loan?? Or does it depend on the person?

I did a little bit of research online and it seems like Direct Unsubsidized Loan has lower interest than Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, so should I get Maximum eligibility for the former, then for latter pick the "necessary" fees (Tuition, Student Services, Health Insurance). I just want maybe around $100-200 extra for food and non-school stuff each month (not even sure if this amount is enough, too much, or too little lol), so what should I do?

Request the full amount for now. You can decrease it once you move here and have a more set budget (rent, utilities, basic cost of living ect). They’ll tell you during orientation but if you decrease it then you won’t be charged any fees for that extra amount.

Any accepted international applicants? Would love to hear from your experience and background 🙂

For current students, do you guys have any recommendations for off-campus housing? I've been searching nearby apartments for a few weeks now and places are generally either overpriced or are dealing with roach issues (ugh)
The big complexes are definitely overpriced. If you're looking to live with people there is a Midwestern campus facebook page that has students from all the programs and people post rooms available almost daily. Otherwise, you might just be stuck paying out the wazoo.

So I’m going to be that guy. Has AZCOM mentioned anything to current students about cancelling classes or anything for COVID-19? Some friends of mine have had their classes cancelled at major universities(not medical students). Hoping this won’t be the case here

Not sure about classes, but I called in yesterday to ask about whether they're planning to cancel interviews, as mine is coming up soon, and they said as of now, interviews will still be taking place. However, that *may* change depending on the trajectory of the virus and number of new cases in the area. They'll be sure to notify us if that happens.

If you’ve been accepted, login to your midwestern email. They’re canceling some things.
