II on Wednesday! OOS but very close ties to the state! Super excited to return to Minnesota!

Good luck! The interview day is very relaxed and the people are all very nice. Make sure you're able to articulate how you fit their mission and you'll do well I think

Congrats!! Like Porpoiseman12345 mentioned, definitely a very conversational, relaxed interview. They really want you to demonstrate to them why you are passionate about primary care, and why you are committed to serving rural/underserved populations in Minnesota. Or at least they quizzed me pretty hard on those aspects of my app! Goodluck!!

Got placed on the "acceptable (alternate list)" category which will be ranked at the end of March. I'm assuming this isn't any different than a normal waitlist unless someone knows otherwise. Oh well, at least it's not an R. Here's to a long few months...

Edit: Reading last year's thread, there was a "high priority" category above the "acceptable alternate list" - really curious to know if this is still a thing, anyone here get that email post interview?

Yeah I think this still exists, but not until after they rank the waitlist after they complete interviews.

I have heard from previous admission cycles that Duluth will freeze admissions around this time and will waitlist just about everyone until March. Anyone know if this is the case now?

I was placed in the high priority acceptance pool last week after interviewing in late November.

My friend who currently goes to UMD mentioned to me prior to my November interview that this is pretty much the case. Judging by the recent posts on sdn it definitely seems like she was right and most ppl are being placed on the waitlist rn (myself included).

Did they mention this or give any more details about the waitlist at your interview?

The following details were provided either at the interview day or in the email I got following the interview. They are currently in an 'admissions freeze' so all applicants that interview between when it started (unsure when exactly, but likely mid-November?) and the end of the interview cycle will either be rejected, placed in the 'acceptable' pool or placed in the 'highest priority acceptance' pool. After interviews are finished, the admissions committee will again start sending acceptances.

I was told this during my interview, but received my acceptance 3 weeks after my interview. (Interviewed 11/25/19)

Anyone know what the alternate list movement is like at Duluth?

Just informed about the alternate list via email. Per the email: WL movement is on average 24 people. The range has been 12 to 38. Most changes will occur in April and May, but could be later.

Iam moved from waitlist to alternate list. How many lists does Duluth maintsin?

Waitlisted in December and got mail a week back saying moved to alternate list.

Ok so last week they ranked the alternate list so the email you got last week should have informed you where on the alternate list you are. They don't say specific position, but I believe they break it into thirds.

Hmm....says middle of alternate wait list. Not sure what that means and how to read

The top of the alternate list has 24 people on it, which is their average amount of WL movement. You've still got a chance if there is WL movement beyond 24 people, but it's definitely not a sure thing. The most WL movement they have ever had was 38 though so you never know.

Just to understand the waitlist categories ...were you ranked in high alternate wait list

does anyone know if they've gotten to the 2nd section of the WL? probably not, but never know!
