2019-2020 Rutgers, New Jersey

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I Interviewed in early February and am still awaiting a decision. Is anyone else in the same boat or have I been forgotten/silently rejected?

They have the application and our life history in hand. Why review an online site that many don’t use. I’m in no way doubting you. Just seems unique. After what I’ve seen during this process anything is possible.

For what it's worth, I was just looked up by a Rutgers Newark Admin and Professor on LinkedIn. They're definitely looking over the waitlist currently.

yeah i was thinking the same thing... still updated my linkedin just now tho lmao

Anyone know if this school is receptive to giving feedback to WL'd applicants. If so when would be an ideal time to reach out/ who to reach out to?
Seems like this school has very little movement only way too late into summer.

I asked last year for advice and they wouldn't give me any since I was on the waitlist.

Hey guys, current M1 here who got in last minute off the PAL last year. Don't worry if you haven't heard back yet, I got in early July after what seemed like a dead season for WL movement here. You gotta remember there's a lot of people who might be getting in but aren't on SDN. My advice, just express as much interest as you can to the school via letters of intent or Application updates with significant new activities; the more interest you show in the school, the more the adcoms will show towards you.

do you know if any applicants last year got off the regular alternate list?

Does anyone know when they release the upcoming academic calendar?

Has anyone received any updates from admissions recently (financial aid, orientation, syllabi)?

emailed dean heinrich about WL movement and he said there are no spots available. he said last year they were not able to make offers to alternates

wow, wild. For both the priority and regular waitlist?

in my initial email i specifically asked about high priority and in the subsequent emails he just said "alternate list" so im assuming both

im very bummed. it was my first interview back in september so i thought my chances were good 🙁

Regarding the June 1 AAMC deadline... do you have to withdraw from waitlists? I don’t want to commit without knowing my final decision to this school
What june 1 AAMC deadline?

Any priority alternate movement or news? Has anyone been in contact with Dr. Heinrich recently?
I emailed him a week ago and he said there is still no movement. He also said the committee has to convene, if a spot opens up, and vote on which candidate gets the spot.

Are there any updates after CTE?
I emailed Dr.Heinrich yesterday and he said there were no withdrawals so I am assuming that means the class is full. Is it still possible for a spot to open up after CTE?
Edit: He said a spot only opens up now if a student withdraws for personal reasons and that is very unusual in most cases.
