Just realized I made a grammar mistake on my secondary. How screwed am I? I added an -ing to a verb when I shouldnt have. :/
Future secondaries, after you write them & think you are done, leave them overnight. The next day, make yourself read each word out loud slowly and you will catch these kinds of things. Fix awkward-sounding sentences. Then read through one more time focusing only on grammar and spelling, not content.

To add to this, I ran everything through grammarly premium, which helped me catch a lot of things.

If it helps, I realized that I made a grammar mistake on my primary (accidentally put the same word twice in a row) and I've still received 5 Interview invites so far. I feel like it isn't the biggest deal as long as its something small like this, but that's just me. I also haven't received an II from Texas Tech, however.

Ok will def do this! Thanks for the tip!

How much is the premium? I have the free version.

If you interviewed here already, how was your experience?

The interview day was 16 people so I found that to be a plus- I really got to know everyone. As for the school itself, I was really impressed by the facilities and their nice SIM building. The students were super nice, resourceful, and really reflected a tight knit community. One of your interviewers may in fact be a M3 or M4 which was pretty cool to me.

They really do try to address the common question of what to do in Lubbock and tbh I found it nothing short of living in just any normal city, albeit the distance from others cities may be a drawback. The interview itself was standard to me. Oddly enough they emphasized through the whole day that they have the “chillest interview in Texas”, but I found my interview there to resemble an interview more so than other schools I’ve been to. All interviewers will ask you an ethical situation type question.

Free student housing vs hotel stay: can anyone shed advice on this because I am not sure which to do. Thanks in advance

I’ve been opting for student housing because it’ll hopefully give me more insight into the school i might not receive from the interview day. Also it’s free.
thats what I figured, so it seems like a good opportunity. Did you sleep in a bed/couch/ blow-up mattress?

I always do hotel because I want a comfy bed and privacy. Also, I get nervous bowels sometimes lol. I’m normally not a nervous or anxious person but the morning of the interview gets me sometimes. But then I’m good when I arrive to the school, haha.

Hows the Lyft/Uber situation in Lubbock? I have an early morning flight out of Lubbock after the interview. The hotel I booked does not have a shuttle, so I just want to make sure it's possible to catch an Uber to the airport at like 4-5AM
I currently live in a Lubbock and can say that we have a bunch of Uber’s available pretty much around the clock. Not sure about lyft, but I’ve taken Uber’s out to the airport between 4:30-5:30 am multiple times for the 6 am flights and my Uber drivers told me they love the early morning airport rides because they make the most money lol. When you fly in there might also be a taxi number you can pick up just in case for some weird reason Uber’s aren’t out and running!

TTU undergrad here. I have had an early flight from Lubbock before (like 5 AM). I used Uber and scheduled my drive the night before and I didn't have any issue.

I am also live in a lubbock and can say that we have a bunch of Lyft's available as well & you can get first ride discount . From TTUHSC , it takes about 20 m to lubbock air port .

I actually just looked it up on MSAR. It states that the secondary is submitted by invitation but that it is sent to “all applicants applying to TTUHSC of Medicine-Lubbock.” So anyone who applies should receive a secondary.
Did you ever get a secondary invite?

I just got accepted into Texas Tech’s School of Medicine through the early decision program!! So blessed!

Has anyone that also applied to the FMAT program heard anything or does anyone know if there are separate interview dates devoted primarily to those who checked that they were interested in the FMAT program? Thanks!

FMAT applicants interview the same days as everyone else. You will have have 3-4 interviews rather than the usual 2 tho. The extra interviews will be with FMAT interviewers to determine if you fit their program and if you seem committed to family med.

I did not apply FMAT but at my interview day they explained to everyone what to expect if you applied FMAT.
