Rejected pre II yesterday, best of luck to you all!
Yeah haha I found that out, but I have accepted my mistake and it's apart of me now just like my other several mistakes. Thanks though!Sorry to hear that, but looking at your tag line you can request a username change yourself now by going into account settings.

Hey! If I limit my secondary responses to explaining why I would like to do PHS, will I be disqualifying myself for military slots? Or would it be better to write about my interest in both? Also I would appreciate any insight you have on the PHS track, the school in general, and how I can ensure I’m a competitive applicant next summer! Thanks for your help! Feel free to reply in a DM- I wasn’t able to send you a message!
Was your rejection in letter form that was absolutely clear? Or was it placing you on hold as a favorable applicant waiting for an interview?Rejected pre II yesterday, best of luck to you all!
Sorry for such a late response. I think it was pretty clear. To be more precise, the first two lines said, "I regret to inform you that the Admissions Committee has acted unfavorably on your application. Please be aware that the School of Medicine received over 3,000 applications this year and while many candidates were qualified, it is not possible to accept each of them. Thus, the Admissions Committee had the rigorous task of selecting the most competitive candidates for interview." TBH kind of laughed at the "...has acted unfavorably on your application" part. I hope that helps! Was your rejection in letter form that was absolutely clear? Or was it placing you on hold as a favorable applicant waiting for an interview?
Pardon the inexperience with public transport, but if I read correctly, I need to take the metro to the medical center station and then use the USU shuttle to go to the school?
That is correct. You could also walk (its about a 15-20 minute walk between the metro station and the school) if the weather isn't too bad.
I interviewed on 11/14 and I'm pulling my hair out hoping for a phone call.Has anyone else that interviewed 10/24 not heard back yet and going kinda nuts? I’m checking the mail literally every day so nervous I might find a rejection letter

They said it would be somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks prior to receiving a response; I doubt we'll hear anything back until 2020 🙁I interviewed on 11/14 and I'm pulling my hair out hoping for a phone call.
If 10/24 and 11/7 haven't heard back yet, I'm starting to feel the same way. But damn do I hope we do. That'd be the best Christmas gift. They said it would be somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks prior to receiving a response; I doubt we'll hear anything back until 2020 🙁
I interviewed 10/31 and was conditionally accepted on 11/22! Hope you hear back soon, the waiting is brutal!!Has anyone else that interviewed 10/24 not heard back yet and going kinda nuts? I’m checking the mail literally every day so nervous I might find a rejection letter
Alright makes sense. For the metro do you pay as you go, or how does that work?

Why is the acceptance conditional?Has anyone received an unconditional acceptance yet? I received a conditional acceptance on October 15th but have not heard anything since then
My guess is all the medical exams + passing background check makes it conditionalWhy is the acceptance conditional?
I’m waiting for the unconditional as well. I already have a security clearance and was medically qualified but they still sent a conditional. I emailed my admissions counselor and this was the response “You will receive your unconditional when the Admissions office receives notification from DoDMERB and Security that you have been cleared. Unfortunately, I do not have time frame for when we will receive notification.” I’m guessing there’s a delay in communication between these different systems/offices and admissions.Yeah there's a wait on the medical exam results and background check clearance before unconditional acceptances are sent out. I was just wondering if anyone here knew how long that process usually takes.
Thanks for the reply Sky10! I guess we'll just have to wait for them to notify the office of admissions of the clearance.I’m waiting for the unconditional as well. Me!Anyone still on the preinterview hold?
+1Anyone still on the preinterview hold?
I wore jeans and a jacket, fit right in!Does anyone know the dress code for the interviewee dinner the night before? It says informal and I’ll be coming straight from the airport so I want to make sure I’m dressed appropriately!
does everyone get asked to submit pre-reqs? just wondering what that means/where I'm at in terms of the admissions process.
Still hoping to hear something. From what I could find online their last interviews are in January. So we all should hear something really soon I would imagine.Has anyone who was on pre-II hold gotten an interview yet?
From my understanding, the waitlist isn’t a bad place to be as USU ultimately takes a lot of them.Get the a waitlist letter today dated from December 13th and I interviewed the 14th of November. I an extremely surprised since my interview went extremely well. It went as well as I could hope so...pretty dissapointed. Any thoughts?

It is the waitlist and thank you for the reassurance! I dont know, guess I couldn't help but feel disappointed because I've been praying for a phone call and to make the commitment already. Didnt want to go into 2020 without having gotten accepted but we'll see. Any insights as to how long people usually stay on the waitlist for?The actual waitlist? Or the alternate list?
The priority waitlist means you were accepted but the class is full and you just have to wait until there is a spot. The vast majority of people on the priority waitlist get in because a lot of people get disqualified medically or for security reasons, plus there are people who withdraw because they decide the military isn’t for them.
If it’s the waitlist then you should be happy. That’s good news.

Both Security and medical are already cleared so fingers crossed, thank you!I would bank on March or April though obviously it could be later. Just depends on your app. But if you’re on the waitlist, you are likely to get that phone call. There are people in my class from the alternate list in all three branches, which means everyone on the waitlist got a call. Just be patient and make sure your security and medical are good to go so you can get an unconditional as soon as possible after the phone call!

I stayed with a host while I was in Bethesda for my interview and he wasn’t offered an acceptance until end of April-ish.It is the waitlist and thank you for the reassurance!
