FIRST REJECTION!!! Right after my Northwestern interview. 🤔 Was literally stuffing my face with deep dish pizza in Chicago when I got the email!

That sounds like a pretty great way to get an R.

I also got the R here today - and was not enjoying pizza after an interview.

With your stats I'm so surprised they would reject you.. I wonder if Pritzker is looking for something very specific or favors certain activities?
My premed advisor said UChicago is really big on serving the underserved and underrepresented communities. And stats aren't everything; my friend who got like 10 points lower on MCAT got an interview from UChicago.

I remember hearing about someone with a 4.0/526 who was rejected in August here. Stats don’t mean much at this level; they just get you looked at.

WHATTT I hope my application is not lost... (completed 8/1/2019)

Are you saying you want a rejection?
Rejections can be quicker than interviews. They might glance at an application for specific criteria they want to see before a deeper review. Without those criteria, they may reject an applicant. That deeper review would likely be required for an interview though.

Of course not! damn.. you got me there LOL

To anyone who has interviewed already, can you talk a little bit about your experience during your 3 interviews? Did you get a lot of overlapping questions between the three? How were they different, if at all?

You just chat with them. They’ll get at “why UChicago?” for sure but otherwise it was just super conversational about different parts of your app or anything else that you bring up when talking. All three will have read your primary app (although student I believe doesn’t see your GPA/MCAT) and I think secondary too. Honestly I think only one of them even asked “Why medicine?” because they had all read my personal statement and knew why already.

Overall it was very pleasant and not stressful at all, which kind of makes it hard to evaluate performance, but it is what it is.

disclaimer: only had one other interview besides u of c, but having said that chicago felt super laid back. they say "we're really just trying to get to know you" and it genuinely felt that way with all 3 interviewers. ofc there were a couple canned questions (eg what was a time you had to step back as a leader, or something like that), but mostly just chill convo

Does anyone remember the Letter of Interest policy? I recall they mentioned they they like to hear from us, but my memory isn't too clear. Do they prefer portal upload or email?

I sent one to each interviewer via their email (each interviewer probably gave you a card?)

my staff interview was very much a standard interview, my faculty interview was just a conversation about the history of Chicago and some medicine stuff, the med student interview is a wildcard (having spoken to the other interviewees after the day was over)

Complete 7/27. It would sting worse if i didnt have another ii but i have another one coming up so thats holding me together 🙂

Nice! What were your stats if you dont mind me asking? (and URM?)
Congrats and also, good job for submitting early! I didnt submit anything until mid August 0_o

I sent a thank you note to each of my interviewer the day after my interview, which was a month ago. I'm now thinking about a specific Letter of Interest saying that I've interviewed at a few other schools this past month but Pritzker remains the top choice. Wondering if this should go to the admissions email or as an app update.

That's IF I should even send it. They seemed to welcome communication.

Giordanos? Gino’s East? Mmmmm if I get an interview in Chicago, I may have to take more than a couple of days off school in Alaska to enjoy all my favorite pizza places. Oh, Dear God! Home Run Inn!!!!
