Spoke too soon! I just received a II!! So happy!

Complete 9/29

When I try to register for a date, it says "you are not allowed to register yet". Not sure if other people are also experiencing this?
Wow, I am quite literally a prophet. I didn't receive the email either, can I have an II now please?

Is it weird that I still have not gotten the email that says my application is complete despite having submitted everything in early September ?

uhh yea, you should definitely check in with them. I believe people who submitted in early september got complete emails in late september, including myself

Are they still sending interviews? How far ahead are they filling up interview spots?

Thanks for sharing! Gives us hope hah. Was she waitlisted/accepted?
She was on the high-priority waitlist but ultimately wasn't accepted and matriculated elsewhere. She believes she got unlucky because almost everyone who got onto the high-priority waitlist got an acceptance eventually. So no, she wasn't admitted but she got very close!

is there a student panel or any other opportunities to learn more about the school in addition to the interview?

Not sure if this has been asked already but it seems like Einstein is a bit slower at doling out II's so anyone know the likelihood of getting on moving forward?

Happy New Year everyone!
I'm a current student at Einstein, and I wanted to pop in to answer some questions as the application process continues. For anyone who may be concerned that they haven't heard back, try to keep in mind that not hearing back isn't necessarily a bad thing - no news is simply no news. (I know this is way easier said than done!)
I interviewed in late October and was accepted on Feb 3rd. I have some classmates who interviewed way later and were accepted, and I have tons of friends who were accepted off of the waitlist, so don't feel discouraged if you happen to fall into any of those categories! A few of our classmates even heard back just a few weeks before orientation, it's all just luck of the draw.
As far as the program goes, I'm really happy here. A few of the aspects that drew me to this program were the ability to work with the underserved community in the Bronx, the fact that Einstein is affiliated with an academic teaching hospital and a level 1 trauma center, and that first-years spend about one day per week in the hospital starting mid-first semester. Einstein ended up checking all of my boxes. A lot of people also really liked that they have on-campus apartments guaranteed for any student who wants it - most of us live on campus but some decided to live off campus. The program is true pass/fail without honors or high-pass or anything like that, which helps create a super non-competitive atmosphere.
They are still having some in-person classes right now, such as anatomy lab and clinic days, with PPE (mask/N95 and eye protection/faceshield). being provided from the school. Academic buildings are still open, masks are required, and all of the rooms have occupancy limits - I think this is all pretty standard stuff right now. They do have a plan to cancel those in-person classes if we hit a certain positive testing threshold in the Bronx.
Hope this helps! I'll be on periodically, so feel free to @ me or send me a DM if you have any questions and I'll do my best to respond! The administration is really responsive and friendly as well, so if you have any questions about deadlines or what's required for certain forms, definitely shoot them a quick email!
Best of luck everyone, and I hope to see you around campus in the fall!

Did any other interviewed MSTP applicants get the care package in the mail... does this mean anything? Either way it was a really nice gesture but now I’m overthinking lmao

Hi everyone! I am a current first-year at Einstein. I interviewed early in September, sent a letter of intent in December, and did not hear ANYTHING until late March, when I was put on the waitlist. I was accepted mid-May. Like people have said before, I also know current students who didn't interview until the Spring and ended up being accepted. Just wanted to let you know what my experience was like because I felt super frustrated and lost when I didn't hear back for so long, but it didn't mean that I didn't have a chance.

Lol same but I’m pretty sure it was sent to everyone who interviewed. Maybe the MSTP student who was on here can let us know if they see this

(unless this is different from what I am thinking of) We sent one to every interviewee following their interview. Normally when you visit we take you to dinner the night before the interview then have a 'meet and greet' (it's an apartment party) and give you something similar before you head back to the hotel.

Correct. It's to replace the post-apartment party, pre-interview hangover cure goodie-bag we usually hand out

Thanks for the clarification!! It’s a really nice touch. It made me really happy yesterday🙂

Glad to hear that and I'll pass it along to the current recruitment chairs. Students are very heavily involved in the interview process here (partly for the free food/drinks, but mostly because we do really really like the program), so that will be good news for the chairs.

If anyone has any questions about the MSTP at Einstein, I'm happy to answer them to the best of my ability.

Thank you for all the responses @notdoctorO. Do you know if the first round of MSTP acceptances were sent out this week? If so, will they be notifying those who are waitlisted soon?
I’m not sure but I don’t think anybody has heard back from the MSTP office yet? I know I haven’t. But I guess we are supposed to hear any day now.

I believe the fist batch of acceptances has gone out. Keep in mind, they usually start small.
I'm not entirely sure if they send out waitlist information.
