I have no idea how this happened. I only applied to Einstein because my dad has an obsession with YU (they aren't even affiliated anymore) and offered to pay for the application if I applied; I thought it was a waste of time and money because of my stats (IS Jewish ORM, 3.5X cGPA, 3.3X sGPA, 517 MCAT).

BUT I GOT AN INTERVIEW INVITE! I was complete mid August, and it's been radio silence until now. No idea how or why this happened, but I'm gonna knock their socks off at that interview.

Big thanks to dad!

Hi guys I have an interview on Friday and I just wanna see if anyone can give me some insight on why they think I got invited for an interview? In preparing for the interview, I see that Einstein is a research-intensive school. Well, I have minimal research lol. However, I do have a TON of clinical experience in many different fields as well as experience working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities. And if you look on Einstein's community service page, almost all of their programs are working with this population. So maybe that could be the connection? Idk. I'm a URM, and overall, my app is very focused on caring for minorities, increasing diversity, promoting health equity, etc. Because the Bronx is such a diverse community, this could possibly be the connection too. Would just like to see what you guys think. Thanks!

Yes, your deep clinical experience and URM status likely got their attention --- as it did at other schools based on signature. Congrats!

If they send acceptances on Feb 1 does that mean no more interviews? Or is Feb 1 just the first day they start sending acceptances?
I interview on Feb 2, so I really hope that isn’t the case. I speculated with my friend and thought maybe their decisions are just on a different timeline.

Anyone know what the dress code is like for the Real Talk?

I forgot what Real Talk was. Is that the student information meeting after the interviews? If so, I remember just staying dressed in my suit since it was right after my interview but they told us we didn’t need to be dressed up and that it was very casual.

The real talk is like a separate zoom meeting with just students. Its to meet students from different organizations. They have them every Friday, but they are not a part of the interview itself. We had to fill out a google form to receive the link

It was a while ago for me so I don’t remember but I'm pretty sure you can be casual/business casual no need for a suit
