They talked about how the Einstein curriculum is being completely revamped - reason why it's not on the website is because it literally got approved like half a week ago! Things that stood out to me were that the anatomy course has been cut down from ~200 hours to 97 hours (seems to be a welcome change) and starting clerkships earlier. Overall, was super impressed by the changes being made - seems like they took in a lot from student feedback. I think another MS1 here posted some more details too.

Sorry yall :/ Would people mind including time of notification and time of interview/completion though? Einstein has been very weird w/ notifying applicants so it would help

I was trying to see if Einstein accepts pre-II updates and saw that some people sent them and some didn't? Is it generally frowned upon to do so since I think Einstein states don't do it lol

It’s been accepted for some people but we really don’t know since they explicitly say don’t send them.

so i'll say that i sent a letter to their email and they just said thank you its been added to file...so ? not sure what that means lol but its a well-written update so ill just smile and cross my fingers

I interviewed back in early December, and I waited until the decision came out in February, when I was offered admission. I figured I should send in my update letter after I received the decision because I didn't think it would necessarily factor into the decision process unless I was put on a waitlist.
That said, it's up to you. Many people swear by keeping schools updated on everything they have done since the interview, and I think it somewhat helps psychologically too, knowing that you did at least something during a very suspenseful period of uncertainty that is the post-II wait. Either way, I don't think it will move the needle significantly for the vast majority of the people that do send in updates.

I actually received an email from staff from the admissions, saying that I have "completed" it but still haven't "released" it.

I think the report gets automatically released anyway, but you can click something to release it even earlier. You don't have to specifically send it to Einstein though-- I only clicked and signed something extra and the report was "released". And I got a reply later in the day from AECOM that it was received.
 
do they screen pre or post secondary? sorry if discussed already..... also how holistic are they? low scores but 5 pubs / lots of research and clinical exp..... and outstanding LORs (4 from MDs, one being academic director of master's program...)

I'm not entirely sure but it looks like last year applicants who weren't in the initial A/WL/R waves ended up getting a rolling admissions/high priority WL a couple weeks after, and most of them ended up getting accepted.

Hey there, could it be possible that you completed it but didn't release it to the school? They are two separate things apparently, and I was given a warning by a staff about a week ago.
So basically, Certiphi said the site would release my report automatically by 16th, BUT that would be too late by AECOM standard. You would need to login to Certiphi and "release" the background report.
I think your acceptance can be reinstated btw. I hope it works out fast-- this is probably every admitted students' nightmare.

As far as the instructions go, I think they were clear enough in the sense that they emphasized that we get the background clearance done within the first 2 weeks.
But I didn't know once Certiphi is done generating your background check report that you had to release it in a separate procedure.

So for those who are accepted and will do background check:
1. Do your background check (rip to those of you who moved around a lot)
2. In 2-3 days, you'll get an email saying that your report is ready for review
3. IMMEDIATELY login and "release" the report, which will prompt you to sign and submit (I didn't do this part at first because the system says it was going to automatically release the report at some time in the future. I thought I was okay, but I received an email from a staff reminding me to release it.)

Edit: That said, I think this is generally for people who have been accepted for the first time to a medical school. If you had your Certiphi done from another school you were accepted to, I don't think there's really much to worry about

I got an II here with a low GPA < 3.5 and my mcat score is also <512, so I think they do take a holistic approach
