2020-2021 Colorado

Can I send any updates to this school before getting an interview or do they not take any at all?
They do not accept any. Sharing anything important during the interview is basically the only way.

Is there a way to provide updates and/or send a letter of interest/intent?

Are there any current students still available to contact about the different branch options available?

EDIT: more questions...
What is the likelihood of Colorado being able to match a scholarship offer? I know the interview was pretty straight forward with need-based options. I'm OOS and would love to go here, but I have a pretty hefty scholarship elsewhere that would be hard to pass up.

I got an email today asking me to complete a residency classification form... Does everyone get that post-interview? Any ideas if it means anything?

Interviewed 12/11 and also still waiting... This feels like psychological torture

... If I haven't received the acceptance call yet, should I just assume I was waitlisted/rejected? Anyone have an idea for when CU would be sending those W/R emails out to 12/11 interviewees?

Same here

Purely speculating but it seems like they make acceptance calls on the subsequent interview days. If you didn't hear back on the 01.08 interview day, maybe you'll hear back on the 01.22 interview day?

I’m happy to answer questions about the branch programs and choosing where to go, considering finances among other things. DM me anytime!

Just received my post-interview rejection. Based on the wording of Dr. Soo Hoo's message, I assume I wasn't even waitlisted, which is a really hurtful feeling. I know it sounds cliche, but I really wish I knew what (if anything) I did wrong on interview day. It sucks to feel like you performed well during an interview and still face rejection.

It's a difficult pill to swallow, but I suppose it's important to lose sometimes in life. I truly wish the best of luck for the rest of you all in this application cycle and in the future 🙂 take care

Edit: Oh, and in case anyone cares: I submitted secondary on 9/13, interviewed 12/11. OOS, 3.9 GPA, 511 MCAT. 600+ hours of hospital/hospice experience (plus additional hours from my scribing experience; however, this wasn't mentioned in my AMCAS since I didn't start scribing until July).

Does anyone have an idea of how many acceptance offers they give out? I know the class size is ~185, but wondering if they give out more offers than spots (given some students will decline and go elsewhere), or do they just waitlist people after hitting 185 offers? Feeling nervous about the ~130 offers on their tracker 😬

Someone earlier in the thread posted a screenshot but last year they made something like 300 ish offers. During my interview day last week, they said they’d done a little over half their interviews. So there’s definitely still time!

I think it also takes into account other scholarships, HPSP, things like that. Also, the COA is an estimate, you can probably make it lower depending on your rent and other bills... hopefully?
Yep, this is it. There's a decent number of HPSP students + Dean Reilly & other administrators have been very active in fundraising for student scholarships over the past several years, so the number of scholarships students have received has gone way up (but is obviously not unlimited).

If we havent been contacted post completion of our secondary in September is it time to give up? This is one of my only two schools left and I feel like it might be time to start the dreaded steps of reapplying.

I've had complete silence since then too. I like to think that no rejection is at least good 😅

You definitely should not give up! As noted before, the CUSOM is still giving out interviews.

That said, most adcoms seem to recommend mapping out reapplication plans if you do not have success by January. Hopefully the plans are not needed, but you do not want to wait until April to realize that you are not prepared to reapply with meaningful improvements.

Wishing you the best!

Do you think this still holds true during COVID applications? Given that many schools are behind 6-8 weeks??

I think it does. Whether or not schools are 6-8 weeks behind does not change the fact that the AMCAS application for next cycle will remain the same. Therefore, preparation six months out is likely required for meaningful improvement, should a reapplication be necessary.

Still no II & feeling pretty discouraged because I was on the HP WL last year... I noticed there are maybe a few others in the same boat? Seems strange 🙁 any thoughts folks?

01.08 interview people: do you guys think it's more likely to hear back on 01.22 (the next interview day) or on 02.05 (the next-next one)?

The patterns seems to have been on the next interview day (1/22) for A, and subsequent days for WL/R, but who knows!!! 02/04 would still be within the 4 week window they promised. Fingers crossed for good news on Friday 🙂

It really depends! Some ppl who interviewed heard back in two weeks so that's what I'm hoping for! With no long holiday breaks I'm hoping to hear back this Friday!

Has anyone seen a detailed curriculum map or curriculum description? I have seen the rudimentary "map" of the TREK curriculum, but do not fully understand how subject material is structured during the Plains year as well as the breakdown of the 3rd and 4th years. Does anyone know if this detailed description is available?

What are you guys wearing to the Pre-interview Social Invitation?

How many II's is Colorado still gonna send out? I was complete back in July but haven't been paying attention the threads because otherwise I'd go insane, so any luck of still getting an II here?
