2020-2021 Drexel

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I received an II on monday, and i'm honestly so surprised at how late it is! but still very thankful and super excited. I've heard that it's possible if you receive an II this late, it could be just an interview for a spot on the WL. Is that true?
According to the webinar/open house meetings, this is false. You interviewing for a spot in the class

Which one is it LOL...
EXACTLY!!!

Sorry lol. I wish I knew. Heard it came be detrimental if you apply to some residencies that place higher value on class ranks. Heard that others, not so much. Might be a question for a residency/M4 thread?

Edit: also, hopefully reduces competition within the class. Can be downright toxic.

What’s interview week is the next rounds of decisions coming from? Hoping to hear soon but I interviewed mid-Feb so probably shouldn’t hold my breath lol

It looks like in the past few decision dates, it's been mostly mid-December and some scattered early Januarys.

will drexel wait until august to start rejecting people from the waitlist? or will they start before august?

Hello everyone, I attended the open house today and thought I would relay some important info that will help everyone:

- They still have spots open, and those who are interviewing are interviewing for a spot in the class and not the waitlist
- They are still actively reviewing apps/apps on hold for interview invites
- Interviews will be going on till the end of April (didn't give an exact date)

There's still hope for everyone who hasn't heard back yet. We got this!!!

I also attended the open house last night. Unfortunately, last night is their last open house until mid June.

Did anyone notice the deposit page showing up as the "application fee" and being non-refundable? I don't want to accidentally pay for the application fee a second time lol

I have not paid my deposit yet but for me, it shows up as an acceptance deposit and says this on the page: "The acceptance deposit is refundable through April 30 which is in accordance with AAMC guidelines."

Mine showed up like this, too. When I paid it, though, I got an automated email confirming my acceptance of their offer of admission.

I want to send additional LORs. Do you guys recommend sending via AMCAS or the admissions email? Thanks!

Hi all, current Drexel M1 here, back on SDN after a wild first few blocks of med school. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has about the school, how things are operating with COVID, etc. Feel free to DM me with any questions as well.

Congrats to all those who have interviewed/been accepted! Drexel has a wonderfully supportive atmosphere!

When were you complete?
Technically, Jan 30th (this cycle has been financially difficult for me, and I didn't realize my credit card payment for my secondary fee hadn't gone through, despite double-checking all my application portals and emails for all the schools I applied to)

Really surprised, thought adcoms wouldn't even bother to read my secondary with it appearing to them so late in the cycle, even allowing for Covid timeline extenuation... that said, I don't have high hopes knowing that there are stronger applicants on hold who were complete much earlier 👍

I received an email saying I need to finalize my financial aid offer within two weeks. Isn’t it a bit too early for that still? Besides, I’m still waiting to hear back if I got any other financial aid offers.
