I noticed you said that the majority of students live in 1 of 4 apartments - one of those being Berrytree. I am wondering how you went about signing a lease seeing as classes start mid-June and the leases they offer don’t begin until August. Additionally, have you had/heard of people having good experiences living in these apartments? I am a non-traditional student, so I am a bit older and would like to avoid the party scene as much as possible.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
There are concerns with Berrytree and Glenwood if you're thinking about moving in around June when classes start. A lot of my friends and I did not end up getting leases until August, so we stayed home for the first several months of classes. Not hard to do when everything is online due to COVID, so it wasn't a big deal for us. I suspect that things will open up and you'll actually have an in-person anatomy lab come June, so if you're interested in leasing from Berrytree and Glenwood, you might want to reach out to sign an earlier lease or sub-lease from someone else during the summer months.

As for the party scene, it's not hard to avoid, especially if you're interested in Berrytree. It's mostly graduate students living there and you're slightly further away from campus. Lodges, Hannah and Glenwood are all hit or miss depending on where in the whole complex you end up living. For example, I have close friends that live right around the hot tub area in the Lodges and it can get a little loud. But I'm sure that if you're certain you don't want to be around parties, then you can easily avoid that.

I did not hear anything. Let’s hope we have some calls today! It’s the likely the last day before break to hear anything!
So I think students are already on break until Jan 11 😢😢 Idk if admissions faculty have the same break tho.. Please no

Application complete since August and nothing from the school. Am I being R? Should I call the school? International student

I think if you call they'll probably tell you that they're still reviewing your app. It's not over until it's over, there's still a chance!

Is anyone who hasn’t heard back yet about their app planning on sending a letter of intent?

Interviewed 12/3 not counting on hearing something before Christmas break but that would be nice for sure 😂

The lady that gave me a call about my acceptance today told me that I was gonna get email on Wednesday.

IS and complete at the end of august. I have not seen any II since first week of December so idk if they gonna have any interviews in January or if they have filled their class 😭
They have a class of 300 the odds of it being filled this early are very low. They started giving interviews in mid October and will likely continue until April. The DO cycle typically gains a "second life" after the New Year.

Any folks complete mid-Oct, particularly Canadians, heard anything yet?
I was complete end of Sept and received an II in December. Due to the holiday season they will probably continue IIs after the new year and my guess is they will get to October apps then.

Did any of those who got accepted on monday got the email already?

Canadian here complete since August and I haven’t heard anything :/ really hoping the New Year brings good news!
I'm also Canadian completed beginning of Sept, haven't heard anything yet aswell :/. Fingers crossed!

Does anyone know if the WL from MSUCOM Detroit section moves, I got placed in another section but was wondering if that moves at all

Yeah, it’s full. I am also on the waitlist for Detroit

Should those of us who interviewed 12/1-12/3 be expecting to hear back this week? It would be 4 weeks but obviously we are in between holidays

Any info on when the white coat ceremony could be?

Does anyone know when we will receive our financial offer? I included them on FAFSA, but did not put my deposit down yet.

Does anyone know if there is an admitted students day to visit the campus? Im OOS and don’t know much about EL.

When I was speaking to admissions, they said they haven't been able to coordinate one due to the pandemic but were hoping to let students schedule individual tours hopefully in the spring. I'm OOS too so I feel the same lol.

Hi! Are there any updates on when we should expect to hear back if we interviewed in December? And has anyone already heard back about a December interview? Just wanted to know when I should be on the lookout for an email - this is one of my top choice schools so hoping for some good news soon!
I have not heard back yet after interviewing 12/3 I’m guessing Thursday this week maybe

So one of my recommendation letter writers just submitted their letter to my app...today...

I still had three other letters that were available at the time I submitted my application back in July, they should've still been reviewing my application prior to this fourth letter being submitted today right?

Someone help ease my anxiety lol

You should be fine, their website says your application is considered complete when 3 letters are in

those of you who got accepted, did you get any other further instructions other than to accept the offer and fill out the form in the portal?

How exactly does financial aid work? Should I fill out the forms for financial aid if I'm not 100% sure I'm attending this school?

Anyone have any insight on how the wait list works? I was told I was on the first tier waitlist. Has anybody been admitted off WL this cycle or any current students have info to share. thank you!!

Waitlist movement varies every year, but if you are on the first tier, you have a really good chance of getting in. There are three tiers and they pull people from first tier before moving on to the second tier. In 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 cycles, everyone from first tier got accepted. But last year, there was a slow movement and a lot of first tier waitlisters didn't end up getting in.

if i decline the offer on the portal, is that sufficient or do I need to send an email as well?

That and pay the $500 deposit. They said to check your email regularly for the on boarding tasks.

did anyone email admissions when they sent an update letter, or did you just send the update directly to the portal?

Is tomorrow the day for some decisions?
