2021-2022 Drexel

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You ask SDN as if we're an adcom when in reality we are anxious pre meds running on 2 hours of sleep and half an Oreo

We've got over half a cycle left, and I promise you'll be much happier thinking about what you can do from here on out rather than where you stand right now. Think of us as popcorn: we're all in the same bag but we pop at different times 🙂
I'm not sure how much this really helps, since the anxiety stems from fear of being an unpopped kernel. 🙂

To answer OP - yes, you definitely have a shot, depending on what the rest of your application looks like. As you must know, 4.0 is superb. 505 isn't great, but it IS above the 10%-ile for their matriculants, which is 504. This means you absolutely have a shot, when combined with your GPA.

As @Conics98 implied, and all the adcoms repeatedly say, patience really is a virtue here, especially with a school like Drexel that is known to extend IIs into the spring.

Thanks for your response that makes me feel a little better. Hoping for the best.

I'm not sure why it hasn't been discussed but the plan for moving the SOM's campus to University City from Queen Lane will be complete in 2023. So if anyone matriculates here for Fall 2022, you will likely need to move closer to UC for the start of MS2. This will allow students to experience the city much more compared to the current campus which is a huge plus in my eyes, especially for applicants next cycle.

What is University Center? (When I put it in GPS, it gives an option for many different states and also Chester, PA).

II +1 an hour or ago or so, complete...sometime in late July lol (never got a confirmation email and had some issue with my CASPer score showing up on the portal, but guess it all went through in the end!). Also OOS.

Congrats!! Do you mind sharing your LizzyM?

Hey guys. Can anyone comment on the major differences between the two campuses? I've heard there are more research opportunities available at the Philly campus. Also, I'm a bit confused about Center City vs. Queen Lane. Do students attend Queen Lane for M1 and M2 and then Center City for M3 and M4?

From my understanding during the interview day, they are currently building a campus in University City and plan to move students from Queen Lane to University City in Fall 2023. That means your M1 year will be in Queen Lane and M2 will be in University City. Then for M3 and M4, you'll be at one of their rotation sites, which can be found on the website!

It seems like it’s been really quiet with post-II decisions. I wonder if this means we’ll have to wait til the end of this month

I do not think so. Deffered means they have not decided whether to accept reject or waitlist you.
During my interview the dean made it seem that a good amount of people would be deferred because they want to be able to give people who interview at a later date a fair chance to get in. He made it kind of sound like a waitlist but also kind of not. I cannot recall if he said people would get post II rejections or not.

Man this process has been debilitating. I was lucky to get 4 early interviews but this the 3rd time being placed on some ambiguous list. I can’t help but to wonder if I’m just doing something wrong.

I haven’t been led on this much since my last girlfriend

Thats rough buddy...

I interviewed 9/21 and I think they told us 8-10 weeks
I’m not sure about acceptances, but I think they may have just started. I came to see if anyone else got deferred today with me so we could be hopeful together😅😅

The good news is:
no news is good news (for now).

They’ve started sending deferrals and rejections, and if no one here has gotten the A yet , then maybe they’re just waiting to send them all out with a flourish!
