2022-2023 Drexel

Just making sure, but a late interview at Drexel won’t put us at a disadvantage right?
Well interviewing late is never ideal due to spots being taken but according to them when I asked during my interview is that they try to leave some spots open for each interview wave. Certainly still means you have a shot tho!

Unfortunately it doesn't work like this. The AAMC requires all schools to send out enough acceptances to fill their class by March 15th. This means that from that point on, people only receive acceptances when someone withdrawals their acceptance. But Drexel gives out ~800 acceptances for ~300 spots, meaning ~500 people withdraw acceptances, so fear not!

Sorry but that's not what that means. By March 15th they need to have acceptances equal to the amount of seats they have, meaning ~300 (or whatever the class size is). All you know is that the total acceptances is somewhere between 300-800. Someone does not need to withdraw necessarily for someone else to get an acceptance.

Sure, they could give out additional acceptances beforehand given that it's almost certain many people in the future will withdraw acceptances, but at a point they would not be able to give out more acceptances once some people withdraw, it will equal out. At the end of the cycle, the number of withdraws after March 15th will equal the number of additional acceptances given after that date. I doubt, after that date, many acceptances are given without withdraws first.

Not sure if this had been discussed on this thread but is there any difference between differed and waitlisted?

Oop maybe the class is full? There'll probably be a lot of waitlist movement come the deadline. It's not over till it's over
Based off of last year's thread, there were some people who were given an A who had interviewed in late January/early February. Things could be different for this cycle, but the one thing that is for sure is the waitlist movement that will lead to A's. Best of luck to everyone!

Now I’m prompted to check and see if last year

Keep in mind that the thread is not indicative of how many total A's were given out during a certain interview period. However, all hope shouldn't be lost and, as always, it is not over until it is over.

I think someone asked admissions a month ago about deferrals, and they said they haven’t got back to review defers yet and was focusing on post-II.

I think the interview have wrapped up(maybe? Haven’t seen any II in a few weeks and did not see any April dates when I signed up), maybe they will have more time to also go through defers? Staying hopeful but also gonna start MCAT again

Also does anyone know if there’s an admitted students GroupMe yet?

No, usually it's posted in the Facebook group. You need to wait for campus assignment first since they usually create separate GroupMes.

Thank you!! And do u by any chance kno how long it takes to get your campus assignment??

Now that the class is starting to be finalized (more so with the traffic deadlines), it should start happening once a week/every other week. I'd just fill out forms on the application portal ASAP and join the FB group.

For all of yall who got A's, did you send update letters/LOIs after your interviews? Also, congrats as well 🙂

Thanks! And no since they said it would take 7-8 weeks for a decision I figured I would wait it out.
