You dress up like you do for interviews, but then try and stay awake for 4 hours of presentations about the school. I think there was a q+a portion that you could engage, but mostly just listening

Seconding the staying awake part. Make sure you use the bathroom before and have food/drink next to you because they give zero breaks. Makes a great impression of their attitude with regard to student wellness lol

I think around hour two most people started having their face openly pointed at their laps looking at their phones lol. One of the presentations wasn’t even live it was recorded from another day so it felt super impersonal. Not a good impression.

Really? I had a different experience. No pre-recorded parts. They mentioned multiple times that we can turn our cameras off and take a break whenever we needed, which many people did throughout. Also given a 5 min break and a 15 min break closer to the end. The entire admissions day could have been shorter but I had a better experience than some others and wanted to throw that out there!

Got my first acceptance on Friday 2/10 around 2:30 pm (interviewed once 11/17). OOS with family from NJ (and born there) with a 518 MCAT and 3.96 GPA. Could not stop checking emails for like 3 weeks straight!!!!

I had one 30 minute interview with an ER doc who worked in the Hackensack system. Open-file, laid back interview. He did ask me about healthcare systems and issues, and the standard why do you want to be a doc question, but other than that it was very conversational. I watched YouTube videos from Healthcare Triage to learn about the healthcare stuff.

Just got a continued review email that I am still being considered for an interview? Anyone know what this means? Does it usually turn into an interview or nah
Did you ever receive the ‘passed initial review’ email from them? Or is this the first time they contacted you since you were complete?
I got the email today as well and its the first contact ive had from them
Man, I don’t really understand how Hackensack’s admissions work, but it seems complicated LOL.

turned into an II for me less than a month later
I have also received the initial review email in beginning of October and got the "still under review" email today.
I also got this today! I thought it was a rejection at first, so I was glad when I saw it was a continued consideration email.

I passed initial review at the end of October, and this is my first time hearing since then.. idk it’s strange. When do they interview until? Seems like the season goes very late
no because I didn't receive it....:') I received the "initial review passed" email in December so I had high hopes for receiving II here. Probably not anymore? Not sure if not receiving the email this morning means they decided to reject me or not... urggg
Hackensack might be one of the MD schools that have the latest cycle!

Has Hackensack sent out pre-II rejections at this point?
Yea didn't think about that. I shall stay hopeful! And I think Hackensack rejects everyone when the school is done with IIs.

So CYMS tool opened today, I was accepted to HMSOM, yet it does not appear on the tool. Worth an email to admissions? Anyone else with acceptances either seeing or not seeing HMSOM on the CYMS tool?
