I’m at work rn and I got no cell service 🥲 hoping to still hear back today. Interviewed 11/17 🥹

I think they are finishing up October this week and started giving decisions for November interviewees up until the end of the first week of November. After that time, we 11/17 interviewees will have to wait a bit longer than this week. /:

Are we thinking a little longer like Monday or a little longer like after New Year’s? 🙂

Oh ok! can you post the link here?
I’m so sorry — I double checked and it was MSU HR but it seems for MSUCOM, the last day was previous Friday 🙁

Also I checked 2021-2022 thread and the last set of acceptances on December were on Dec 16

Dang it brightskies!!!! I'm kidding I'm kidding, but all of the 11/16 & 11/17 folks can now focus on enjoying the holidays and look forward to hopefully receiving good news after the new year. I'm saying this more for me bc def easier said than done 🥲

I got an email yesterday telling me I'm on the third tier waitlist. Anyone have any idea how likely the waitlist is to move that much? Figure that means I'm definitely towards the bottom of the list. Not an R, so there's always a chance, but I'm not feeling too confident about it.

Don’t have an answer for you. But any reason you think you were waitlisted? How did your interview go?

I would try and send an app update if you can, also what day did you interview?

I interviewed on 11/3. I sent an LOI with a few updates on 12/8, so I don't think it would make sense to send another one. Overall I felt the interview went really well. I did get 1st quartile Casper unfortunately, so that is definitely not a great mark on my app. One of the few things I can think of that might have set me back.

How many people sent LOI or updates? I haven’t after interviewing 11/11 and now I feel like I should have

Usually. After an interview, you do nOt have to send a LOI. They will give you an answer if you interviewed. I think LOI is only for those who haven't heard ANYTHIMG from the school or who have been put on WL.
This is my train of thought with LOIs as well

Thank you! This helps with my confusion

Also, remember they review your entire application again. So they will relook your MCAT scores, your gpa, your interview, your casper, your experience, clinical hours, shadowing, etc. So you got to look at those too and take all those into consideration. I'm very sorry you did not get the answer you wanted to hear from MSUCOM, but keep trying. I do hope that you will come successful doctor someday

MSUCOM Admissions as of today:

All AACOMAS Applicants: 5534

MCAT average of accepted applicants: 506
Science GPA average of accepted applicants: 3.6

This is from the 2016/2017 thread in feb. Does anyone know where this person got this info from? Would be nice to know!

I know this may be hard to do, but may I give a piece of advice? Enjoy your holidays, be with friends, family, etc. And not worry so much about when admissions will get back to you. Know that they will get back to you when they get back to you. I know it's easier said than done, but distract yourself and that will help the time go by faster. Trust me

Lmaooo tru, but im 3rd quartile. I guess you can say Casper sucks as a predictive tool for behaviour
True. I was in 2nd quartile. I hope the admissions committee will realize that those psychological profile exams are the most subjective tools known to man

Hello, all! Long time lurker here and admitted non-traditional applicant (PM for stats or any other questions; I'm happy to help despite what my CASPer exam says haha). In past years, there's been a GroupMe, WhatsApp, or even Instagram group chat to help incoming students. I'm not seeing any mention of group chats in this thread. I imagine this would be pretty useful, especially for navigating pre-matriculation or finding roommates.
If you're interested, here's the link: GroupMe

There was a link posted for a Group Me a while back.

I've been complete since 8/5/22, no rejection but its also been crickets..... This is one of my top choice schools, anyone receive any pre-II rejections recently? Any tips regarding reaching out to the school etc.? Congrats to all the future docs that've been accepted so far!

nothing neither, but right now its winter break

Actually, classes begin on Jan 9th. Admissions on the other hand, they picked up my phone call today at around 11:50 am Michigan time. Safe to assume they're back in office and reviewing apps/IIs/acceptances?

Is that what you asked them when you called?
