Hi all! Interviewing next Monday and am super excited! I was wondering if people used backgrounds for their virtual interviews, and if so, which ones? Having trouble finding a good spot in my house for the interview.

I recall at least 2 ppl on my 9/14 interview used a blur background

I think one or two ppl had virtual backgrounds during my interview. I took stuff down from the wall behind me to create a solid look.

I personly did the blur effect, but there were 3 people I think that used backgrounds

Can any admitted people confirm about what time (including the time zone) that they received their decision email?

A Friday at like 2:45ish EST. I quite literally cried. Absolutely balled my eyes out. Got it on camera too haha. My parents don't even know I got in yet. They think I applied to DPT school which had previously been my plan (I didn't want to tell them because I didn't want the added pressure). They are in for quite the surprise at Thanksgiving LOL.

Omg!! I am going to be a doctor! I interviewed October 3rd and got my acceptance on 10/14. Honestly, still incredibly shocked that it's happening for me! Congratulations to everyone that's been accepted. I'm non traditional, a mother of two small kids, and I almost cried when I received my acceptance email. It's been a long journey and I'm so excited!
Congrats!! Hopefully we'll get to be classmates :^)

For people that were accepted, where does NoordaCom rank for yall? Are you guys set on this school or waiting for other A's??

I'm honestly not sure yet. Right now it's my number 1 since it's my only acceptance. But I do think I'd prefer somewhere that's not as ridiculously farm away from me as Utah. It seems like the students are happy with the school, and the staff truly cares about the student's success, so that's a big plus

my only A as of now (been waitlisted at others) but I have some interviews to attend this month and next so hopefully, by December, I'll have a clear decision made

would like closer too but same thoughts of school overall

Agreed. Students seem to enjoy it and Utah would be a beautiful place to learn medicine 🙂 but since I’m from Florida, it would be tough to be that far away from my family & for a short time being, my fiancée. We shall see!

I'm seeing a few questions about life here in Utah, so I thought I'd let people know that I'm from Utah (Salt Lake area) and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS/Mormons), so if anyone has any questions about Utah and life here or whatever I'd be happy to answer any questions!

I don't know if it was the right thing, as I'm still awaiting a decision, but I used a photo of the mountains that I took in France! I figured since the pre-interview ppt mentioned using backgrounds, it was fair game! I just made sure the background wasn't too busy.

Does anyone know if, when Noorda transitions from pre-accreditation to accreditation status, we would then become eligible for federal financial aid? For example, if we were in the middle of M2 or M3 when it happens, would we be able to apply and potentially use that going forward?

I doubt they would swap in the middle but for the next years I would assume yes. I have my meeting with financial aid next week so I'll ask them when they plan to have federal aid

I had the meeting with financial aid already and they told me we (class of 2027) would most likely be able to apply and start receiving federal finically aid for our 4th year. They become accredited spring of our 3rd year but it will take a year to process and obtain a FASFA federal code for Noorda.

I thought they would’ve became accredited either fall of 3rd year no? Cause the 4th years graduate our second year

I haven't heard from most of the schools I applied to yet, but Noorda is definitely one of my top choices. It's my favorite in terms of the program itself so far the only thing is location. I live on the east coast but am originally from Houston, so I was hoping to get back to the Houston area for med school. I think being accepted in Texas would be what would make me waver.

Honestly, it is at the bottom of my list. Private loans are not eligible for PSLF. The school has made a lot of promises, but we have not seen results yet. The school could turn out to be great, but it is a gamble. I wouldn't be too worried about the school getting full accreditation though. I would happily go here if it was my only acceptance. The rotations sound really solid, but the class size has ballooned in only a couple of years and the tuition has drastically increased as well.

Only reason Noorda is above LECOM on my list is their blatant anti student policy and lack of professionalism, tuition on the other hand is nice

Congrats!!! I just got accepted too and am also a mom (of 4)!!!! 🙌🏼

Silly question, but if I'm on another group on Groupme, will the members of that group be able to see that I'm in Noorda's group?

I interviewed 10/12 and did not receive any email yet. However, I did log into the portal and noticed that a new tab appeared today called "waitlist information." Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm excited to live somewhere with four seasons! Husband is freaking out about potentially having to shovel snow.. Anyone have any leads on upscale apartments? Basically the more amenities, the better. Nice gym is a must, bc my husband often uses it before work early in the am. Family friendly is a plus (play grounds, etc).

Also, anyone have any recommendations on preschools? I prefer Montessori or Spanish immersion. I know it seems early to find a preschool, but we moved across the country recently and was only able to find a half day spot for my toddler. Want to avoid all that as much as I can.

Thanks in advanc!!
