This school seems very family friendly based on this forum and that’s extremely important to me. Interviewing Monday and feel even more pressure to get that A knowing this.

Congratulations to everyone that got accepted today. For those waitlisted, I know that it stings to see the acceptances (am waitlisted at another school) but it is still early and as a new school I think Noorda will see lots of movement on the waitlist so don’t give up hope!

I don't know the complete details, but I skimmed last year's thread b/c I was curious what would happen if I was WL. I remember reading something about eventually placed people in tiers and taking them off the WL based on that. I'm just not sure when you're told about the tiers and how much movement there was on the list.

We will not be eligible to offer federal loan options until 2025. Our team is working very diligently to identify the best private lending options and scholarship opportunities possible for our students. As soon as we are able to publicly share more information, we will do so. Did you hear if they said when we would hear back? I just heard as soon as possible but not sure if I missed anything. I’m predicting we’ll hear next Friday based on all the others

I hope so! From what I’ve seen like 2 ish weeks. I might have missed it also if they said specifically all I really heard was that they will try to get back to everyone as fast as they can.

I'm excited to live somewhere with four seasons! Husband is freaking out about potentially having to shovel snow.. Anyone have any leads on upscale apartments? Basically the more amenities, the better. Nice gym is a must, bc my husband often uses it before work early in the am. Family friendly is a plus (play grounds, etc).

Also, anyone have any recommendations on preschools? I prefer Montessori or Spanish immersion. I know it seems early to find a preschool, but we moved across the country recently and was only able to find a half day spot for my toddler. Want to avoid all that as much as I can.

No, b/c I haven't done them. I was nervous that signing them would mean I was obligated to attend. I'm still waiting on 1 other party before I commit.

I was also nervous about this but your seat isn’t held until you pay the deposit so that’s why I signed them!

it's currently "up there" on my list bc:
1. I like the idea of the curriculum, as caters to my style of learning moreso than mandatory didactic lectures (although I recognize the risks involved given there's no track record yet)
2. Research is heavily stressed in the curriculum compared to other DO programs, and the connections/support seems bountiful since there's partnerships with a public university nearby as well as a big hospital nearby (Utah Valley Hospital)
3. The area is beautiful which allows outdoorsy stuff to do (I like options to stay in or go out hiking, etc)
4. Good enough restaurants/groceries/boba nearby LOL
5. Students seem happy to be there
6. Dr Dougherty (the dean) is pretty well known throughout the nation and has connections to residency PD's..he's also worked with University of Utah and the Utah legislature on increasing funding for residency positions in the state. Theoretically, that should give merit for us potential Noorda grads since we'd be a familiar name during the app season for residency.
7. Provo as a city is what I am used to growing up (suburban-urban)
