When do they send II's until? It says interviews take place through April so I'm hoping there's some more time... I submitted in September and haven't heard anything since 🙁

I mean you can always withdraw your usf app and free up some space for someone who likes the school 🙂 (assuming you don't want to go to usf or be in select)

No I’m not sure what I want in life

I got an email stating I have not submitted any science LORs (like how 2 are required to be science). I saw the list of science courses being included but not limited to* BCP. *I figured since it wasn't limited to these, I could have my 2 science be bioengineering (my major)?

It's not like I can just go whip up 2 more LORs, should I just email back explaining my thought process? 🙁 Can't really think of what else to do. Seems pretty futile :')

at this point it wouldnt hurt to send the email. worst case they'll say no, best case they'll say yes.

During the interview, would they ask what our activities are during this year? If they don't, then would it be weird if we mention or update about them ourselves?

The questions are pretty open ended so if they fit the bill, you are more than welcome to talk about new things in your app. Other than that, we don't accept updates

Just putting this here for anyone in the future considering USF that's in the same situation. It was a no. So bioengineering does not count for the science requirement.

Unfortunately, the wording is rather ambiguous on their website describing LORs.

Currently Waitlisted for the SELECT program here. Is USF known to have pretty good waitlist movement?

received an II this morning for SELECT, even though I didn't apply for this program. it says in the email they think id be a good candidate for it 😳
+1 on OOS SELECT II when only applying for Core. I hear it is typical to put OOS applicants in the SELECT group.

It seems like this school waitlists everyone after December. I’m assuming they have a lot of waitlist movement.

I'm going to clear this up again-the class is not full, applicants are still receiving acceptances as of now. The month where the class is full varies year to year. There is a lot of waitlist movement and many applicants are waitlisted.

Thank you. Obviously sdn is a small representation of all applicants BUT not one person has posted an acceptance since December and same thing in previous year threads. What is the reason for waitlisting so many applicants if the class isn’t full? I am just curious.

I apologize if this was answered somewhere in the thread, but are the interviews open file or closed? MSAR says closed but always nice to check.

holy moly 8 A's 27 II's. What would you say was the overall wow factor in your app. I need some of that secret sauce

the student said they had my file but im not too sure what that meant as in if that included my scores/gpa or just my essays. the faculty one was closed.

Hahah thanks! I was definitely not expecting these kind of results.

I am not entirely sure what part of my app explains this madness, but here goes -- I would say I have high stats, strong and well-rounded extracurriculars, and a cohesive narrative. I think writing goes a long way when it comes to applications, and I put a lot of effort into my writing! I also applied to a LOT of schools, so to some extent it is a numbers game. Feel free to PM me if you have further questions!

Both select and core are partially open. Can see your PS, no MCAT/gpa

Sdn is a small sample size and there are far more applicants in general than those who post here. I can assure you that more or less the same number of applicants have been accepted each month since we've started interviewing. We waitlist a number of people because we interview a lot of people, and typically lots of people are accepted off the waitlist.

Does anyone know if WL movement will continue into June and July? I have a predicament because the only med school I have been accepted to starts class May 30th. So I'm wondering if I will have to leave that school in the middle of classes if I do not come off the waitlist until June or July.

Yes, unfortunately. That's just the way the system works. 🙁 I know there are people in my class here who came off the waitlist the week that classes started in July. Usually though, the commit to enroll deadline for a school is before classes start anyway, so it would kind of be a moot point because when you CTE, you are supposed to withdraw from any waitlists (unless the school you've been accepted to is a DO school, then I think the situation is different since you wouldn't have to CTE there).

II today!!! complete sometime in august & i’m very excited!! but for some reason it won’t allow to sign into the the portal and i’ve tried resetting my password and everything anyone know how to fix this?

seems like all of applicant gateway is down not just for usf but a lot of other md schools. email admissions and they’ll help you schedule!

roughly when did you all find out what times your interviews were? they said to keep the entire day open, but that there would only be only one or two one-hour interviews over the course of the day

The day after the interview confirmation email I got two emails saying what time each interview would be. Two 1 hour interviews for me and they were back to back

What is the area code or the call # when called for an A? What if we miss the call, would they leave a message?

Idk the area code but looking back on this thread and past, anyone interviewed after December gets WL letter. According to a student there are acceptances after dec but if so they aren’t posted on sdn. Hoping you get the call though.

Ok, thank you for your reply.

Hey guys, I just had a quick question. I interviewed earlier in February (IS, core) but was wondering if anyone had information about the mcom presentation sessions and when those typically were. Also do they typically release decisions around the 15th of the month, or was that just earlier in the cycle?

They probably won't get to your application until the next month or so

Oh yeah that’s what I was going with, just was curious as to around what days of the month. Was more curious about the information session though and when to expect more info on that

I sent them an email because I could not attend February's session, but I have not received a response. Hopefully, their recent lack of communication is not an indication of an undesirable admissions decision because before interviewing they would reply to my emails within a few hours

Does anyone know if it’s possible to still get an acceptance if we interviewed this past week? They sent an email saying we’d get a decision in 6-8 weeks which seems pretty long and I’m thinking the class might be full by then?

Historically they waitlist most people after December but not everyone according to some of their admissions faculty. Either way they have a good bit of waitlist movement that seems to occur within the first 2 weeks of May. From what I’ve read people seem to get decisions around the 15th of each month from the previous month so those that interviewed in January should receive a decision around February 15th. I could be fairly wrong but this is what I’ve gathered from my neurotic reading 🙂
