I apologize in advance for this neurotic question... I submitted the acknowledgement of acceptance we are supposed to do today, but then immediately submitted the next step (continue to hold acceptance) and now there is no record or confirmation email that I completed the first acknowledgement step that is required to do today... Does anyone know if there is any way to know we have met each of their requirements?? Sorry if this is neurotic, the phrasing of "if you fail to meet any of these deadlines we will re-evaluate your offer of acceptance" is terrifying lol 😭

Continued review :/ still trynna figure out what this means but I also II mid December so hopefully they just haven’t really gotten to my file yet? I’m prolly being too optimistic lol

If you heard from them they should have reviewed your file!
 
For those applying in the future and stalking this thread for time stamps:

Mt Sinai historically sent acceptance/continued review emails around 4 PM EST. On Jan 19th, 2024, they sent the email around 10 EST (my email was at 9:56 PM EST to be exact).

Scroll up for some good laughs at our anxiety and neuroticism. From T-Mobile Wellness Checks to Parlays on the exact time we’ll hear back from them, we had a hell of a Friday. We hope this eases you if it’s 6 PM and you still haven’t heard from them yet.
 
current Sinai 4th year. To all those who got in, congratulations!! To those of you who got the CR email, do not despair. I know how tough and heartbreaking that is but nothing can be done about it. Do what you gotta do whether it is LOIs, updates, etc and then wait. I got in Feb after getting a CR email. 4 years later you forget all about it. Again, I know it ain’t easy but gotta keep your heads up and keep pushing. Good luck yall 🙏🏻

Gotcha so they selected their priority batch but still have open seats and just wanna compare us w the more recent interview batch?

Yes this is my understanding, I think they want to give everyone a fair shot regardless of when you interview so they start by taking the applicants which they like the most and feel would still be at the top regardless of however strong the later interviewees they haven’t seen yet might be. For everyone else towards the middle of the pack, they want to compare us to the later interviewers. This is how I think it works and what their reasoning is at least

Got it! This makes a lot of sense. So when do they send out Rs and WLs?
 
Has anyone here gotten an R? Or does literally everyone who doesn't get an A get CR?
 
Hi, does anyone know anything about the new curriculum? I think understanding the curriculum is such an important factor in making a decision for medical school but I feel like all we were told is that it’s gonna be new. If anyone has any specific information on this, Id really appreciate it!

they mentioned that switching from 2 year preclinical to 18 months and that they did so by removing duplicative stuff - thats the information I got - not sure if that helps !

Thank you so much!! Do you know if that’s the main change? I feel like i heard them say that class structure is going to change. Like moving more from recorded to in-person lectures, but i’m not sure?
 
Do they give out the "continued review" email to everyone who previously interviewed and wasn't accepted or are there some people that didn't receive an acceptance or a continued review?
