2023-2024 Tulane

Nice! What were your stats? And did you have ties to school?
510 MCAT, 3.5 sGPA from postbacc. Undergrad/masters from a top British university in modern history. No direct ties to tulane but worked and did research at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans during university, so fairly strong connections to NOLA and I have a genuine love for the city and region which I wrote about. Taught myself how to cook cajun food while there, which I talked about in my essays/hobbies. Some fairly unique EC's as well, I was a semi-professional athlete in a very niche sport. definitely nontrad. feeling dazed and undeserving, to say the least.

Congrats! It is nice seeing another person who studied History.

MANIFESTING THIS A

Did decisions come out midnight last year?
Last year, the first round of decisions came out on October 14th at 5:30 pm EST which was a Friday. In 2021 decisions were released on October 15th which was also a Friday. Ultimately, they'll probably come out by EOD Monday.

For those of you accepted when did y’all interview ?

"acceptance range'd" - interviewed early September -- does anyone know if they reject anyone initially or if everyone gets either the A or waitlisted?
It doesn’t look like Tulane sends out post-II R’s (initially in the cycle), only A’s and acceptance ranges. I looked at last years thread and only saw those two things being commented as far as December. Of course reporting bias and what-not, but looks like those are the only options unless you royally mess up the interview?

I think I remember hearing that the vast majority of applicants end up on the acceptance range (I could be wrong though).

Also, it seems like Tulane sends acceptances out once per week, according to the portal.

nah I heard that too; but I think it's a bit misleading (depends on what "vast" means) because technically the majority of students don't get the A after interview lol

Anybody hear anything that interviewed the week of September the 11th?

Has anyone who interviewed in late August not heard back yet or just me lol?

Does anyone know if the 'hold for possible interview' designation is like being waitlisted pre-II? And in the past have people been able to get an interview after being placed in this category?

Got a second hold for interview email like a month later lol

How do you mean? Do they interview a ton of people proportionally to other schools?

Accepted today at 8am. International reapplicant, nontraditonal. Interviewed on Sep 08. It has been a bumpy yet fruitful journey. ED last cycle, but was deferred, waitlisted, and rejected. RD this year and finally got the A. Sending all the good luck to you all! Couldn't have made it this far without the SDN community!

That’s awesome!! What were your stats as an international student? I studied in another country also so I’m curious

Does anyone now what's the order in which they review applications? I was complete Aug 15th but haven't received the "Under Review" email and I see many people who were completed earlier haven't received it either.

Every application gets sent to a "screener" who is the gate keeper for this. Some screeners are faster than others and their methods for screening are different than others. So pretty much its a lot of chance for how fast you get screened to go under review. I was complete 8/11 and haven't been placed under review either.
