hey for question "4. Did you indicate that you were the recipient of any institutional action on your AMCAS application? (Yes/No)
If YES, please provide a description here: (500 characters)"
I was wondering if anyone knew how to approach this? I explained it in my primaries and am not sure what else to say in the secondary.

If a medical school is asking for you to specifically reiterate something on your primary, then do it in as much detail as is necessary (those are the instructions, after all.)

Often, the folks reviewing the secondaries don't have full access to your primary application or are blinded from specific sections of it to remove any biases. It seems they want any potential institutional actions to also appear on both applications.

Do we know what the pre-II hold means in the application timeline? I don't have it yet, it still says under review, submitted/complete 7/16... is that good or bad?

Sorry, my neurosis is coming out... 😵

allegedly GW uses this a lot just based off last years thread, seems pretty normal

They are doing all these reviews but I haven’t heard of anyone getting a II yet. I wonder if they go through and rank all the apps and when all the apps are reviewed (for a certain time period) they sort by highest rankings and invite the top 30ish or something

I believe they start sending out interviews in August so they’re probably reviewing right now and haven’t sent anything out yet

Does anyone have any insight on the differences between Main Campus and Regional Medical Campus?

@lumya Maybe you could chime in as a fourth year? 😀

Anyone else is welcome to as well! TYSM!!

per their website:

“With a class size of up to 30 students, the RMC is ideally suited for students who may thrive in a smaller, tight-knit learning environment with more opportunities for direct access to faculty physicians and hands-on clinical experience. Unlike the main campus experience, all required third and fourth-year clerkships at the RMC are at a single site, giving opportunities to build a strong sense of community, shared mission, and lasting relationships.” FYI, the DC campus class size is ~170

So for the following question:

Please provide the Admissions Committee with a brief summary of your activities, academics, employment or other occupations to account for full-time activity (approx. 30-40 hours/week) from the point of application through matriculation in 2024. (750 characters)

Did you guys break down your weekly hours amongst your activities/should we do this?
I am also not completely sure but I am writing paragraph style rather than specific hours since I am taking a gap year and cannot give exact hours

Also RMC is in Baltimore and is associated with Sinai Hospital there. So really good for people who are interested in community health and those who are interested in the specialties for which Sinai has residency programs for! There's about 7 of them

did anyone get a complete email or anything? all i got was that i paid lol
You get a code by email after paying for the secondary. We then enter the code in the app and then submit. No emails, but the status will say that your file is now complete. Good luck.

Honestly I don’t know too much about RMC since it just started it my year but my classmates there really like it, especially how they are located in the same area. I’ve been pretty fortunate to do all of my rotations at the same couple of sites but I’ve had classmates bounce around more. There’s pros and cons, for me, personally I didn’t opt into it because I wanted to specifically rotate at Children’s National as I was initially interested in peds onc and i also wanted to keep the mentors I had found during pre clinicals.

is there anyone who submitted earlier and hasnt heard anything back? im getting neurotic about a silnece lol
I submitted the day the secondary came out and am also still waiting for my portal to update. i don’t think they go strictly in order

Yeah, I don’t know if not being put on hold is a good thing or a bad thing. My stats aren’t the best and I’m afraid no news just means an R later on. I might be overly neurotic though lol.

Observations based on last years thread:

-Most of the first II went to people who were on "complete"
-The first batch of rejections went to both people "on hold" and people "complete", seems to be pretty equal
-Mix of both "on hold" and "complete" got interviews throughout the process.

Guys, I think we need to take a step back and stop worrying about it. At this point, we've done all we can do & its out of our hands. No use fretting! Especially because it doesnt seem to impact outcome that much 🤷‍♂️
