From what I remember in my last cycle they did IIs or Holds at first and then in the winter started pruning down the holds to Rs or IIs

I was wondering the same thing. Don't know of anyone who has gotten a rejection so is the hold a soft Rejection

no the holds are really holds here. There are tons of applicants who get an II every year off the hold list

Same I submitted 7/29, not a reapplicant and still haven't heard anything back. But I have repeatedly seen that no news is good news so they might have seen our applications put us on a hold but not a hard hold that requires a status update?

yes lots of these holds become interviews at GW

Earliest I saw last year was mid September. Then again late September. But I didn't find a ton, only a few

as far as whats on SDN, so far all the people that have received interviews this cycle were not put on hold. Past threads does show that some people onhold do eventually get IIs but later in the cycle
