Just sign it and then you can always reject them laterDoes anyone know if signing the matriculation agreement is binding? I paid the deposit already to hold my seat but I'm WL at another school that I will likely take if I get accepted, so just wondering if I should sign this if there is a possibility I'll withdraw my seat later?
Pretty sure it's not binding and you can reject them later. I am in the same boat but planning on rejecting the school I got the A too if I get off the WL at LMU-DCOM. I'll be following to see what others say....Does anyone know if signing the matriculation agreement is binding? I was looking at your profile and it looks like you weren't the biggest fan of how somethings were being handled at LMU in the Fall. Has your feelings on that changed at all, would you have accepted another schools offer if you could?Hey y'all, current Knoxville OMS-1. Feel free to ask anything here or via DM if you have questions and I'll try my best to answer
It has gotten better, but a lot of issues are still there. Student morale is very low. I had 2 other offers but picked LMU because of the location, but I would have rather taken one of my other offers. If LMU is your only acceptance, please go to LMU though. We've been having lots of issues that admin have been told about multiple times and they just keep saying they'll do something about it but never do. Constant technical issues mainly. Overall there has been some improvements (clarification on what puts students on the at-risk mandatory attendance list, not changing the tutoring curriculum) but the school is still in rough shape in my opinion. On the other hand, n=1 and some people seem to really enjoy our program, but I would say the vast majority would agree with meI was looking at your profile and it looks like you weren't the biggest fan of how somethings were being handled at LMU in the Fall. It would be a lot easier to understand if you would actually go into a little depth instead of being so broad. I have two really close friends at DCOM and they love it. I hear none of the complaints from them. I look at the board pass rate increase this last year as well as the matches, and i wonder to myself, how does the school get such a bad wrap. Obviously they wouldn't change much about the attendance policy; in their mind it works. They went from a below average board pass rate to a mid ninety % board pass rate in one year. Despite obvious and inevitable fluctuations, that is a great increase. What changed between the years that could have contributed? The attendance policy changed. That has been everyone griping point, but since putting that together, they have seen results. I am not saying that that is the reason why the better results are seen, but in admins mind, I am sure that it contributed. It has gotten better, but a lot of issues are still there. i’d never say never for this! there is supposed to be a lot of waitlist movement, and they seem to always accept a limited number of applicants with each interview. personally, i think you have nothing to really lose with completing the interview, the waitlist is super unpredictableDo i actually have a chance of being accepted here if my interview is 5/15? I’ve been put on 3 other WL and it really sucks to keep hearing that. I’m expecting a WL but does anyone know if they’re still accepting people?
A big thing is admin making changes without letting students know ahead of time and continuously not listening to students. Student study spaces being taken away and forcing us to go to an off campus building to study that currently has broken AC. Requiring certain students to have academic support meetings that get cancelled on the same day and then get in trouble for not having a meeting by the due date. Going above and beyond to make sure that students aren't cheating to the point where its just way too much (we have a quiz before every OPP lab, and even though people walk around and monitor everyone throughout the quiz we have to take it on a seperate lockdown browser, same with our patient care lecture quizzes except for those we have to log out of zoom to take them and then log back on the zoom). A lot of admin talk down to the students and send condescending emails to the student body that basically just say "you guys need to be more professional." Locking out students from doing any kind of research or holding any type of club positions without a certain GPA, except they don't know what that GPA is because there were 2 contradicting things in our student handbook so we're still waiting to see what it actually is. Constant issues with IT stuff, lab practicals & SPEs being pushed back for hours and having the schedule changed the day before the event without telling students that the schedule changed. That's just some of the stuff I can remember as of late. But also, some people may be thriving and I'm happy for them. I'm not trying to say "don't ever go to LMU its hell here" or anything like that. I just think there's a lot of issues, but if people disagree with me thats completely fine. n=1It would be a lot easier to understand if you would actually go into a little depth instead of being so broad. I agree that if someone puts the work in to get off the mandatory attendance list, they should be removed.
do you think they're preparing you well for the boards? i know they had a huge increase in the pass rate this year, but what has your experience been like? i also really appreciate your honesty with everything!A big thing is admin making changes without letting students know ahead of time and continuously not listening to students.
