They'll get back to out of staters in 6-8 week if not shorter but I've been waiting 5 months and still nothing lol. Congrats to everyone, just getting so emotionally tired
waiting since September too man, they'll wait till april to hit us with the WL/R.

Accepted students Facebook page is now letting people into it. There seem to be two, one of which does not seem legit. Here is the FB page: Log into Facebook

Where did you find this? Was it emailed? Only email I have gotten so far has been the Save the Date for Second Look
I just searched for it on Facebook Groups and found two. The one I found is run by a current student so it seemed legit.

Would it be any use emailing the admissions office asking for an update? My only other acceptances are from DO programs and my top choice right now has a deposit deadline of 2/15/25. I also will be accepting the HPSP scholarship from the Army and in order to go through commissioning they need my commitment to a specific program. I know they generally give the generic response of "You'll hear back by April," but do you tink if I explain my situation to them they'd provide some more information?

Yeah I would, my friend was in the same position in November and Umass sent them an acceptance before the DO deadline.

Wow, that's the first success story I've heard so far! I interviewed in September, so I really was expecting either a WL or R at this point but being that it is my dream school, I don't want to lose hope lol. Thanks so much for your response.

I want to speak for the people. For everybody in here waiting for a decision, the medical school application cycle sucks in general, but UMass might have the worst process I have ever seen. This is my 4th cycle, so I’ve seen a lot, and they are at the top of the list for sucking. It’s hard enough to wait for an interview, but once you have one, you should be given the grace of knowing a general timeline for decisions. It is completely unacceptable for someone to interview in September and be literally ghosted until April. People have lives. They have jobs. Sometimes they have kids and families. They have other acceptances they need to make decisions on. It’s leaving people empty handed and completely without answers, and forcing them to hold hope. You guys are rolling admissions, so act like it. UMass admissions, if you are to read this, just know I think you suck a$$. Be better.

Yeah this describes my last cycle to a tee, interviewed right at the beginning of november, got rejected post II at the very end of April. Umass is actually horrible when it comes to how their cycle works. Interviewed this year early september and was told 12ish weeks for a decision...

I emailed them to describe my situation, but unfortunately, I got the generic response stating they follow AMCAS policies and that I'll hear back by April 30th. Although this is where I want to go I think I'm better off taking that as a rejection instead of holding onto any hope.

Hello! Has anyone who interviewed regular MD on Oct 3 heard back yet 😭

I got rejected from the MD/PhD program back in December but am under consideration for MD. Is there a chance for me or was it more of a courtesy email? Interviewed for both the MD and PhD in October. Thanks!

I see some people have gotten As after interviewing mid to end of January. Does this mean they’re relatively caught up or are there still plenty of people who interviewed even before January that haven’t heard back?

There are people who interviewed in september who haven't heard back. UMass is completely random in their decision send outs

1. Did anyone get an email stating they missed an email for an interview on Feb 6 today?
2. Was there actually an interview on Feb 6th?

I got the same email. I am 100% sure though that I did not miss any email on Feb 6th. I went back and checked more than once. I hope this isn't some mistake on their end because I got pretty hyped up for the interview. Were you able to get in touch with anyone from the office? I haven't heard back from them yet.

I believe I will recieve A this week from the presitgous and affordable UMass Chan. I've been seeing many signs and wonders that an A is in my future. Just this morning my cheerios spontaneously formed an A in my bowl. When I got up off the bench at the gym there was an A formed by the sweat of my glutateus maximus. Yes my friends, I believe this week will bring great fortune to many of us. Namaste

Apparently, they had a system bug and never sent me my II email so I just called and scheduled one for this Thursday. Anyone who interviewed minds sharing their experience, any tips they might have and how the overall interview was because all they did was tell me my interview was on Thursday and not much more. Any insight would be appreciated, thank you all in advance!

Standard MMI. All situation/ethical questions, no acting. You have 2 minutes to read the prompt/question, take notes, think of an answer, etc. After the 2 minutes is up, they remove the question from the screen and you have 6 minutes to answer the question and any follow-ups the interviewer has. Some of the questions are dumb as hell, some are pretty straightforward.

If you happen to get the dean (I think Tracy is her name), be prepared to get grilled. She grilled the crap out of me (and others said the same). But I think she cares more about how you handle the pressure than how good your actual answers are (cause my answers sucked but I held my composure).

A mistake I made was that one of the questions was so short and easy to answer that I finished "gathering my thoughts" after thirty seconds and then had to sit there in silence for another minute and a half, which is a crazy long time when you're just staring blankly at your interviewer. I zoned out and when it was time to answer the question, I COMPLETELY forgot what the prompt was. Don't make that same mistake lol.
