I thought there would be a couple because I saw people drop here. So ig they were moving people offSo I called and the rep confirmed everything. The Bridge email was accurate. There are no open spots for the 2029 class.
I should’ve just sank with the titanicI thought there would be a couple because I saw people drop here. So ig they were moving people off
Nah jk if I do that they’ll think thank god we didn’t start the movementI’ll dress up now and drive to the school to ask face to face about this, who’s with me?
True 😂😂Nah jk if I do that they’ll think thank god we didn’t start the movement
It isI guess this is the end of the purgatory 😭
That's very disappointing. So I called and the rep confirmed everything. The Bridge email was accurate. There are no open spots for the 2029 class.
I was thinking this too but chose to be delusional. There was a Med School HQ livestream that confirmed DO yields were 10-20% higher this year and yes, given how there is an overshoot of acceptances every cycle, these two facts make it so that open spots are incredibly unlikely. But at the same time it's also possible that the school when sending out their initial acceptances sent out an overshoot number of students anticipating people would fall off. If there was not a lot of people falling off, there's not a lot of space for WL movement.
I do think a ZERO waitlist acceptance year is highly unlikely and unusual
Honestly I think the healthiest thing for others and myself is to unwatch this thread and just see what happens. That's very disappointing.
The nature of the waitlist is that it moves only when someone from the full class withdraws their position, and its true we saw some withdrawals.
But at the same time it's also possible that the school when sending out their initial acceptances sent out an overshoot number of students anticipating people would fall off. If there was not a lot of people falling off, there's not a lot of space for WL movement.
but for what it's worth, I do think a ZERO waitlist acceptance year is highly unlikely and unusual..., so I'd say it's also unreasonable to assume that it's 100% over for us all
But I think I'm going to now change my mindset lol. If there is further news, its a pleasant surprise, but I think I'm going to emotionally move on..
I got into ARCOM but it’s so far from New York but it’s okGuys it’ll be fine regardless of what happened. I hope everyone at least has an A somewhere. I’m gonna just give up by Friday if I don’t really hear anything. I really believe everything does happen for a reason, praying that whatever is the best for all of us happens, even if we may not see it as what’s best for us. ❤️ thank you for keeping me company on this journey y’all.
My dad said ARCOM was your first interview back in August and your first acceptance without no waitlist bs maybe it’s meant to beI got into ARCOM but it’s so far from New York but it’s ok

i just saw this and it revived my hope 🥹Because there's so much negativity in this thread, I decided to see how the cycle from 3 years ago went and it mirrors a lot of things here.
1. The waitlist email and an acceptance post three days after from an SDN user. In this case, we just don't know if they pulled anyone or who they pulled because no one posted. I'm inclined to believe they did pull people from the waitlist and we just don't know.

2. The same person in that email, Kathleen Riley, also confirmed a full class. Also, the same thing happened this cycle: communicating with admissions led to us being told "slow WL movement," "we don't know," and "soon."

3. Movement happened, quite literally ~1-2 weeks after.

4. Even more movement and posts.
I think I've hit the screenshot limit, but I saw a 6/29 and a string of mid-July acceptances from that cycle.

There will be movement and the admissions person wasn't wrong. Based on this small SDN sample size history, it will happen. I don't know how the different yield rate for DO schools this year or those weird or those unsubstantiated rumors of 2025-2026 cycle applicants getting class of 2029 spots (from what I can tell, only three schools did this and the other 2 I've seen mentioned are just unsubstantiated rumors) play a role, but this circumstance has happened before. We're all seemingly shut out and then something happens. It's just slow and unpredictable.
The 2022-2023 thread had a whole 8 pages more of worrying than the one the previous cycle which seemingly went smoothly, but that's all just speculation. The only trend, and it's not even that consistent, that I really see is this pre-waitlist email taking longer and longer to arrive each cycle.
i just saw this and it revived my hope 🥹
