Iirc at my interview day, they said a decent amount of people get off the waitlist. I think as the cycle comes to a close, there will be more WL movement as schools and applicants make their final decisions

I agree! They received your LOI, no need to send another.
You could probably just email them to follow-up if you want, but otherwise you just have to be patient at this point.
Last cycle, they did eventually accept all students off their WL so there is a great chance of that WL turning into an acceptance in time.

I ran way over on my interview time (like by [emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]] minutes), but they did allow me to ask [emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]] question at the end of the interview.
I wouldn’t stress too much about it. It is probably just the style and personality of your interviewers. I had one that was very nice and wanted to know so much and one that was very strict and uninterested.
That’s just how interviewers are sometimes.
Just remember that KPCOM only interview students that they already like and the interview is just a way to get to know you better. If you do end up on the alternate list, remember to send a letter of interest.

I think another applicant who was able to transfer will better answer that question. But what i remember from my interview was that they try their best to be as accommodating as possible.

I just got my transfer to Ft. Lauderdale today. I emailed [email protected] and cc-ed [email protected] and [email protected]. The person who replied was the second email, but better safe than sorry. They will give you a campus change form to be submitted. It's only one page long. Make sure that when you're submitting, you've paid the $2k deposit, or it will not be considered. Submit the form to the same emails (just to be safe), and then you wait.

Ive been thinking about staying at Tampa over Fort Lauderdale, I might ask them to pull my transfer application. I'm still on the fence because I want to find something with research and land a good rotation site. Do both campuses have equal chances of landing the core rotation sites? I would think Tampa possibly has better rotation sites/connections due to proximity of TGH which is arguably the best hospital nationwide. Really good research opportunities there as well.

Just by being a medical student u can get into a lot more things than u think. You can still go and try to network yourself by shadowing/doing research.

Also I know a number of current students at the Tampa campus doing rotations over here (Broward/Palm beach county) and vice versa so I don’t think being a student at one campus limits rotation options since it’s the same program just with multiple campuses.

From what I understand, everything FT has, TBR has as well. One campus cannot have one thing without giving it to the other campus as well. Additionally, having lived in FT, I know that the area has several hospital groups; they do have several medical schools as well, however. I do not think FT would be lacking in rotation sites. Feel free to correct, of course.

Yep this is correct!
Third year rotations are assigned by the school to KPCOM core rotation sites via a lottery system. So all students from both campuses can be assigned to any KPCOM core rotation site (home campus location plays no role in this). Most rotation sites do seem to be in South FL however, since FT Lauderdale is the original campus.
TGH is not one of the core rotation sites in Tampa. However, you could probably look into TGH if you wanted to during your fourth year when you can do elective/audition rotations at sites you personally arrange.

However, regarding research, one of the current students I talked to mentioned that everyone at both campuses take a research course during second year that often leads to publications. However, they did say that if you are interested in seeking out more research opportunities outside of that then it is easier to do so at the FT. Lauderdale campus (since the FT. Lauderdale campus has the research building and access to many more professors across the entire university campus).

You can see the list of KPCOM core rotation sites broken down by regions in FL/out of state on their website.

Otherwise, the FT Lauderdale and TBR campuses have identical curriculum and opportunities.

I submitted the form on 3/31, so about a month. Then again, I wasn't near the 5/1 waitlist movement timeframe.

Sent the form on 04/28 and got the email that my transfer to the Davie campus was approved yesterday 04/30!!! VERY happy that I get to stay close to family 😊 Wishing the best for everyone else!
