Honestly, most reapplicants need to take a full extra year to make real changes to their application. This is especially true for those who interviewed and were rejected rather than waitlisted.

It's too late now, so you've got to think about your interview last year and consider what you can improve on. Think about how you are going to present yourself this time. How have the changes you have made actually made you a better candidate? What growth have you had since your first app?

If you get rejected this time, give yourself a solid year before you apply again and consider what the committee might be asking you to develop in the meantime. If they asked you to change jobs, they're probably hoping that you'll branch out, challenge yourself, and see more of real medicine.
Thank you for this reply! I will work on preparing my interview with these suggestions in mind.

Has anyone done the interviews yet? How were the MMIs? Pretty standard type of questions?

I just had my interview on 10/10, I believe they will give me a decision in around 4-8 weeks but I’m not sure, can anyone confirm?

They might, but don't count on it and don't freak out if it takes longer. It's not you, it's them.

i interviewed 9/26 and haven’t heard back at all so honestly no idea how they are going about it!!
Same here, I think it depends on when your interviewers are able to meet with the committee and discuss you. Last year I had to wait a few months.

This is correct, when you hear back is truly only a reflection of your interviewer's schedule. Once the committee has discussed you, you will hear some sort of news. Sometimes this takes weeks, other times months.

They let about 15% or each interviewing block know about 4 weeks after interviewing if they get an A. the rest either wait to to be placed in the hold pool (ie, waitlist) or get an R

MS1....feel free to reach out if you have questions

In better terms “ placed on hold” i interviewed 10/07
omg you got a reply FAST. Panicking now cause I interviewed 10/10. It’s still very early they said they take people off the hold list a lot later in the cycle so you shouldn’t worry!

Am I correct to think they probably accepted so far in the realms of 30 - 50 students so far?

I interviewed 10/8 and am also panicking now

hold doesn’t mean waitlisted - it means they are waiting until later to decide for certain. About half the class gets accepted at the end of April(to fill their seats), then they will waitlist a further ~100-150.

As of 1 week ago, <20 offers have been made. This is a long haul, folks. Their goal is to fill only half their seats (so 75/150) by mid-march and then the rest at the end of April and pull from the waitlist after that.

I can't say this enough with regard to OHSU admissions:

1. Hold is a GREAT place to be. This is not a waitlist. A huge proportion of the class will come from the hold pool. Don't sweat it at all.

2. Assign no significance to how soon you hear back after an interview in comparison to others. It is literally a matter of your interviewer making it to a committee meeting, and it takes some much longer than others. Seriously. Don't do this to yourself. It's not you, it's them.

You have two options here: sweat the small stuff or just ride the wave. It's not worth your energy to try to predict this process. You are operating in an imaginary admissions system of your own creation, but OHSU admissions operates in a non-linear fashion. Go with it.

Hi! I am from the PNW and applied to OHSU and was complete 9/1 but haven't heard back. I also am confused by their priority grouping system. Does this mean I don't have a chance since it's been so long and I haven't heard back?

No, it doesn't mean that at all.

There's plenty of time.

Does anyone know how many candidates have been interviewed so far and how many got the offer?
Also, how many people do they put on hold each cycle?
