Just me, but I repeated my primary in this secondary last year as it was not explicit that they did not want repeats. Also, I think it would take a bit longer to get verified if you submitted 6/4. It took me 25 days to get verified and I submitted on May 30th. I feel like AMCAS has been a bit slower this year or perhaps there are more applicants.

Hi everyone! Just want to say I’m a med student starting here at SLU. I’m happy to answer questions throughout the cycle about the program.

I had a great time interviewing here. Everyone was so nice, it was really chill. Probably my favorite and least stressful interview. Best of luck to you all!!

I am a little confused about the pre-req requirements. It says 6 credits of English and 12 credits of Humanities and Behavioral science. They also mention that you need at least 18 credits of English or Humanities courses?
I thought I was able to use my 8 credits of humanity based intensive writing course for the 6 credit English requirement and a bunch of behavioral science credits for the other 12 credit requirement. Do I need 18 credits of English or Humanities courses?

Is preview required for the committee to begin reviewing your app? I'm scheduled for the next preview date but am trying to prioritize which secondaries to work on right now.

Edit: For anyone in the future wondering this... It seems that while it's required, it won't withold your application from review

SLU FAQ: Can I be invited for an interview without a PREview score?

Is the character count of 1000 including spaces or excluding? I haven't received the 2' yet.

I submitted my 3 letters of rec and they appear on the link when you open it on "status", but I'm still getting the "x" (❌) under Application Status and it says 'not received'? Anyone else have this issue, or did it take some time for them to update it?

Wait for a human to verify things

Is anyone else having real trouble fielding through their website to find unique things about them? :/

You just gotta put in the leg work tbh. If the website doesn't give me what I want then I just look through old "SLU vs. X" threads to see what other people say about the school. After that you can even try getting on social media to peruse through what makes them special.

lol i feel u with the reddit threads I did the same thing! I ended up finding some things I connected with, it just took much more leg work opposed to other schools haha

What are they asking this for? I have an advisor from my university but never had him look over my secondaries

edit: read in the 23-24 forum that said if didn't utilize then no

SLU started this new program where if you meet their average class profile you get a guaranteed interview (that is you are a SLU student or recent alum), did anyone receive an II?

Like a postbac program? Do you have a link to this?

No, not a post bac program. I’m a SLU student and this is an email they sent.

Looks like they just started sending out interviews, so its still early in the process. Hang in there~

on their admissions requirements it says "Courses intended to satisfy basic requirements or completed online will not be considered."
does that mean online courses do not count? Half my classes were online because of the pandemic!

If it was during 2020-2021, I believe you should be good to go

Anyone who has interviewed already wants to share their experience? Trying to get the feel for the interview and the whole process.

I just interviewed today! In my experience the interviewers were very kind and friendly and it helped to calm my nerves a lot. The one-on-one was about an hour long with the typical interview questions, and the group interview about a half-hour long. Also, for the group interview I was expecting a large group but it was just me and one other person. You can't really prepare for the group interview, but it's very low stress imo.

If you don't go to the friday/sunday panels they host with med students, you can ask any questions you have at the session between interviews. But you can also ask questions during the group interview, there's a lot of opportunities to speak to current students there.

Lol thank you but I probably met you today. My interview was today too. I can attest that the interview was chill and friendly. The group interview was exciting!
