Does anyone know if UVA covers costs for second look weekend?

Since this school has such a high post II A rate - what are some of the premises/reasons they won't accept you post-interview?

Also this website says they interview 650 and offer 300 As.....so is the post II A rate rlly close to 80%?
During my interview I remember them saying they interview about 500. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

That's probably including the wait-list. Wouldn't make sense for a school with 150 seats to extend acceptances to 300 people.

Most schools have yield rates nowhere near 100%! A 50% yield rate is actually pretty typical for a school with UVA’s profile 🙂

did anybody send any interest/intent letters pre/post interview to UVA and gotten results?

hey bro chin up I suspect many people A here will have other offers and give the spot up (im one of that if make feel better since that's one more spot possibly to you).

UVA seems to value demonstrated interest. try connecting w students there. you never know, if one of them happens to somehow be an ear for the adcom and they want someone on alt list that's biting to get in, it'll be you.
Appreciate you and the advice man. I'll make sure to do that

I don't think anyone here can say that, the admissions process is a blackbox. Just try your best during the interview and get your message across.

Is the virtual student hosting optional? I completely didn’t see that part on the secondary and feel like an idiot right now because it’s already within 2 weeks of my interview

Its optional! But definitely helpful talking to a current student. Honestly the virtual hosting + interview put this school at the top of my list!

I emailed the account for student hosting a couple weeks ago as well as a follow up email but didn't get a response. It is normal for them to take a while to reply?

did anyone else have a really short interview here (~15 minutes)?
upcoming interviewee here, from lurking in previous SDNs it seems that a few people have gotten that and have gotten As.

if you dont mind me asking, and please dont be specific, what was the vibe of the interview like and what were the type of questions they ask during?

They were pretty casual, my interviewers just asked a couple standard interview questions related to specific parts of my application and activities

My interviews were relaxed & conversational. Just know your application & be able to talk about your experiences 🙂 Wasn’t my #1 when I came to interview/presentation day, but you can absolutely bet it was when I left. Everyone was so kind and vibes were incredible.

Interviewed today as well. Nothing but the best to say about UVA. Name and Fame material.. Hope to see you next Fall!

What do I need to avoid doing at the interview to not get an A? Hahaha asking since the post II A rate is pretty high

I thought I had a good interview, but was WL.

I was pretty gutted since this was my top choice, so keep in mind, a good chunk of people also don't get in

Literally. My student interview did feel slightly off. But oh well

Don't despair just yet! There will be considerable movement on the WL. I know multiple people already who intend to withdraw their acceptances once financial aid is out.

Good luck to everybody interviewed this week today!

Does anybody have any intel on the post II acceptance rate difference between IS vs. OOS?

Spreadsheet from 2021 says IS Post II A - 87% vs OOS Post II A - 78% (from 2021 and pulled from USNWR- take w grain of salt)
