How did y'all send the AAMC preview scores? HUCOM isn't on the institution list for sharing scores on AAMC
 
might be a dumb question, but for this "Applicant's Highest Level of Education (i.e. High School Graduate, BA/BA (Bachelor's), MA/MS (Masters), Professional Degrees (PhD, MD, JD, DDS, PharmD)" if i still haven't graduated college should i just put (High School Grad.)

I took me a while personally but that's because I didn't apply u til September.

I did the PARP program which was perfect for my transition honestly

I love my classmates, I love the legacy,

The Preliminary Academic Reinforcement Program (or PARP) is a 6 week pre-matriculation program meant to help specific disadvantaged incoming students to prepare them for beginning medical school. The students who start PARP are chosen by the admissions committee, not by the choice of the students. I think its for students whom the admissions committee predicts would have a harder time adjusting to the medical curriculum. The curriculum is composed of some of the topics you'd learn during first year. Once you pass the program, you'll get admission into the incoming class

Oh yeah I saw this on the website! I was meaning more of their personal experiences I guess. Like what were the classes like, etc.
 
1. Was your childhood home located in a rural, urban or suburban area? (250 words/3000 characters)

2. Have you lived in communities which are medically underserved, or where the majority of the population is economically and/or educationally disadvantaged? (250 words/3000 characters)

How are y’all answering these questions bc they gave us 250 words, but I feel like I can answer them in one sentence. I feel like the word limit is pushing it, are y’all reaching 250 words? Are you guys telling stories or just explaining your upbringing?

1) I described the area a bit and linked it back to how it affected access to healthcare
2)I described why I believed any of the categories applied to my upbringing, and how it has shaped my current situation.

Take this with a grain of salt though 😅, I am just an applicant.

I don't have a text box for question 1. It just has the boxes that you can check off, where are you guys seeing a place to type out an explanation?
 
250 words appears to be significantly less than 3000 characters. Which limit are you guys following?

The 250 words I just wrote was only about 1550 characters, so I am confused

For anyone who received an acceptance to Howard Med with a January MCAT retake, what was the timeline from the school receiving your scores, getting an interview invite, then your acceptance? Were you placed on a waitlist? And if you don’t mind sharing, what were your stats? I was encouraged to take it in Jan and apply (already have a score but trying to shoot higher).
I also did a post bacc at another HBCU and they take January MCAT retakes on a case-by-case basis. I guess a follow up question is how can I maximize my chances at getting a late acceptance this cycle when I have a great application?
