I think attributing the LORs' submission times entirely to "procrastination" is also unfair. MANY variables could be at play that would delay someone's letter. For example, a professor at my school had a significant health scare last year in the late winter and could not write the letters he had promised the students working in his lab until after he recovered. If that letter were a crucial aspect of your application, it would be worth waiting a bit longer rather than finding an alternative and less impactful writer. That's just my opinion, though. This entire process is so subjective.
There are certainly cases like that, but those are by no means the majority. In those circumstances having an option to explain the delay should be allowed and the application should be able to continue. However, the best option is to just remove LORs entirely. They are not equitable and I don’t believe they serve as much of a differentiator in general (unless someone writes an incredibly bad one but then why would you ever have them write you one?). Anyways that veering on the theoretical and off topic. I’m just saying I understand why people believe it is unfair.

They won't post until later in the afternoon (their social media team is slow), but others have already reported IIs today on other platforms. Typically IIs are sent at 8:30-9am.
Weird. Every other Mich Monday was posted before 10am. I see two people in admit but nothing else.

Looks like it slows very substantially after November according to admit, is this true or just reporter bias?
It's true, however, that is mostly due to the holidays. UMich sends them only when the campus is active, so between the Thanksgiving break and winter break they really only have on average 2 Mondays to send stuff. The actual number of IIs they send each Monday doesn't really decrease until January.

That makes sense, thank you!

In terms of what Michigan values, I'm sure they obviously value both service and research but is there one way the lean more than the other? Like do they favor research or service more than one another like some of the other T20s?

umich sends rejections early? I'm seeing a couple on admit
They usually send a small wave or two before Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving they will send another big wave before Christmas break and then at the start of next semester it becomes a bloodbath.

Does Umich or any other medical school record interviews to review later? etc

Typically no, UMich does not (unless it was done without me knowing or without consent). I don't think other programs do for the majority either, but that is just my experience.

Interviewed here recently. Anyone know if their policy from last year of getting back to us with decisions by the end of the next month still applies? At the interview they only said it would take a few weeks.
