Wow, I can't believe how warm ad inviting everyone was. They genuinely want you to succeed, they have the experience in making stellar programs(pharm, law) and they want to make the medical school reach that standard. Everyone helps each other, the school won't let you fall behind, no cutthroat competition. I think the facilities are awesome, there's plenty to do here if you like the outdoors, if not suburbs of Raleigh are 20-30 minutes away. I would definitely go here.
 
How were the interviews today?

Just got in a little bit ago. Drove around the main/undergrad campus. All the buildings looked really new/nice. Then drove to the med facility. Wow 😱 Very Impressive.

Excited for tomorrow. Anybody else there in the morning?

I'm hoping everyone had a good day at interviews today! You are the last group through before decisions start coming out if I understand it right....about 50 of us total so there is still room for all of us 😉

Let's hope our phones ring!
 
Interviews were awesome today. School was amazing and I really like the location. Cheers to all the applicants I met today. Good look to you guys!
 
Wow. What a great experience today. Beautiful facilities. Amazing staff. Competition was solid. Loved everyone I met today and would be honored to be in class with them. The future is bright for medicine if the applicants I met today are any indication of all future doctors. Really hoping for an acceptance.

For anyone who has received a secondary application from CUSOM, could you please verify whether the essay questions are:

"What are the top five qualities you feel you bring to Campbell University that would enhance the overall climate of our medical school?"

"Osteopathic medicine parallels allopathic medicine but has principles and practices that are distinctly different. Which of these principles and practices are of greatest interest to you and why?"

"There are many problems facing healthcare in America today. Describe how you believe the Affordable Care Act will impact healthcare in the United States over the next five years."

"In the event you submitted an application to a medical school last year, what improvements have you made to enhance your application?"


These were the essay questions from last year when I applied. I'd like to know whether the essay questions remained the same because I'm currently waiting for them to send me the secondary app and I'd like to begin working on the essays.

My secondary included included only 3 prompts. The only prompt that mine did not have that you listed was "There are many problems facing healthcare....." So you already have the 3 that were on mine (1. top 5 qualities, 2. Osteopathic vs Allopathic what interests you, 3. Last year vs this year). Hope this response wasn't worded too poorly.

Just received an II for Sept. 23 or 24 I am so excited I forgot the date. Second II of the day maybe I should pay the lotto.

Got the confirmation email it Sept. 24, I remember I wanted weekday because weekend car rental price is just to high for my taste.

hey guys can you let us know how long it took you from the complete email to get an interview invite. :xf:

Also, in the secondary when it asks "In the event you submitted an application to another medical school last year, what improvements have you made to your application?" if we've never applied to medical school could we just say "ive never applied to medical school" Or do we have to elaborate on what activities we've added to our list even if we didn't apply to any last year. I may be over thinking this, but i just wanted to be sure. 😕

A few weeks, but everything can vary now in the busy part of the cycle. And yeah, you are over thinking it. If you applied last year answer, of not, don't. Simple as that.

Anyone else worrying over their answers now that its over and the wait has begun? I've been rethinking my answers in my head and nitpicking them.

Haha, I think I was in an interview trance because I can hardly remember what I said during mine.

I wonder how many acceptances will come out of the ~50 considered tomorrow.
 
They are deciding tomorrow. Yikes!!! Im starting to freak out

TOTALLY doing that... And I felt pretty good when I left. My mind is playing tricks on me I think!
 
Any female want to share a room and/or a rent a car? I will be arriving Sept 23 and leaving Sept. 25.

Any guy want a share a rent a car with me?
 
I wish they gave more than 30 days to decide to make a deposit. Most schools allow until December 15th if accepted before November 15th.

I agree, but as far as acceptance goes, if I get in I will put the deposit down. We're about to go into a quarter million dollars in debt, so $1500 is a drop in the bucket. I'm trying to stretch my plus loan though so I can't afford to pay more than two deposits.

I hope 50. Everyone I interviewed with seemed really great and I'm hoping they wanted all of us as long as we didn't show any red flags during the interview.

I wish! Don't think they'll fill a 1/3 of the class in a matter of 4 interviews/9 days though. Think there's any way we'll find out before Tuesday?

You never know, all schools give way more acceptances than actual spots though, right? Just with the expectation that a lot will turn down the offer.

True. I feel great about 2 of my interviews. The last was so so. He asked me 1 question about whether I had seen OMM in my shadowing or not and then wanted to know if I had any questions. I asked a few but it was very short and he didn't seem to interested. Just weird after going over on time with my other two interviewers. Maybe he was just tired.

Either way, I thought it went well and will be sad and surprised if I get a rejection.

My last interviewer was tired, so it was hard to gauge what she thought about my interview, te other two went well for me too though

I felt like 2 out of the 3 went really well, and the third wasn't bad necessarily, I just couldn't read her.
 
For those of you that have interviewed do you remember what time the day ended. Im trying to book a flight home but im not sure what time because the conformation email I got did not include times. In the email it says about 2pm but im not sure if that is tentative or not.

My group ended at 1:30, it's an hour drive to RDU, but I would say any time after 6 would probably be fine. You'll like the school, good luck at your interview and relax, everyone is exceedingly nice.

I missed a call from them....aaaarrrgggghhhhh and then had to leave a message when I called back. Freaking out is an understatement

That's what I did when I got the invite, but I agree, phone call= in!
