PROS: Resources, sim lab, anatomy lab and only 3 on a cadaver at a time, medical mission opportunities, area, right next to a golf course 🙂, curriculum.can those who were interviewed offer up their thoughts on the school? Pro/Cons, etc
To clarify there are 6 students per cadaver. 3 in the early afternoon, and then 3 in late afternoon. You have less people to bump elbows with but you won't be in the room for every single cut.PROS: Resources, sim lab, anatomy lab and only 3 on a cadaver at a time, medical mission opportunities, area, right next to a golf course 🙂, curriculum.
CONS: 2nd year students have no idea how the rotation set up will be, or how they will decide who goes where. But, they will have that figured out by the time I start, so it doesn't seem like a big concern.
Others may have different opinions..
They said the same thing when I interviewed on the second interview day last year, still got waitlisted (and accepted in December) lol. So take that with a grain of salt.Seems like it. Joy mentioned that this early in the process they only accept or reject and don't waitlist usually until the class is filled, around January. So get to the earliest interviews you can!
Go for it Sunny, let me know when you get it going!Has someone made a Facebook for everyone accepted yet?!
I was thinking about doing it, but I was waiting for more people to be accepted.Has someone made a Facebook for everyone accepted yet?!
Looks like I'll be the first to post this:
I interviewed this week and got rejected. 3.8 gpa 25 mcat
Not sure as to exactly why? I thought my #s were pretty ok and my EC's are a little bit above average.
However, in my interviews, I did get pretty nervous and rambled a lot - it's just my dumb nature :/.
I also noticed that the interviewers focused a lot on my 'low' MCAT score. I tried my best in explaining myself but I guess they just didn't like me enough :/
Yes I was a little bummed at first, but I still have 7 other interviews to look forward to!
BTW congrats to all those accepted! It sure was nice meeting all of you on my interview date

I got an email stating that "You are cordially invited to attend Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine’s (CUSOM) fall Open House session onFriday, October 31, 2014." I haven't received an II...is this a good sign or does this go to everyone?
Mind if I ask when you received it? I've got an interview in two weeks and I didn't receive that e-mail.
Interesting, bc at my interview based on where a few people said they interviewed/were interviewing, it seemed liked plenty of people had low mcats. Campbell had an average of 26 for c/o 2017, I could only imagine it went up to 27..so 25 isn't far off.
You have 7 other interviews so don't think about it too much.
if they thought your mcat was too low why send you for an II?
Would guess not important at all.Does Anybody know how important it is for the open house invite on the campus? I havent received the inteview invite but an invite for open house? How does that affect the interview invite? Thanks.
jjtheairplane and ModyzMalak, yeah I thought so as well. I don't know. Perhaps it was just more than my MCAT, but that's all I'm remembering at the moment. Truth be told, this was my second interview and I wasn't well prepared. My first interview went great because they weren't the straight up questions like "why do you want to be a doctor", they were literally easy-going conversations. So when I went to CUSOM, I guess I just winged it as well. Winging it is a gamble. It can go great (like my first) or bad (like my second interview). I am now preparing much more on my answers, hopefully this will help me on my next interviews.
For those with similar MCATs as me, don't freak out! In retrospect, I actually don't think this was the sole reason I was rejected, it was probably just my overall lack of preparation now that I think of it. I wasn't really prepared, I got nervous, and I probably came out as a weirdo, lol.
Good luck to all!
When did they receive your secondary?Just got the complete email! Would be nice to get an interview here!
Sent from my iPhone using SDN Mobile
Has anyone else started the matriculation documentation and have class of 2018 on all of the online documents even after clicking on the link for the 2019 class?
For those accepted, do we have to do anything right now to accept the offer or we have time till Nov 15?!
Thanks, it was all updated when I checked again. Anyone decide to start the facebook group yet?I had the same problem a couple of days ago. It should be fixed now.
See you monday. You'll do fine! Look for the guy who looks like Homer Simpson.Hanging out in Raleigh tonight and interviewing Monday! Getting really nervous hope I get good news quickly after!
They meet so fast that your notes are likely not read prior. For those interviewing, I did not write thank you notes btw. I think they're more of a nice gesture rather than an admissions move.
I wrote thank-you emails to all of my interviewers. Two of them actually replied back. They meet so fast that your notes are likely not read prior.
Most decisions are announced withing the week if not faster
All if mine replied back last year (thank you sent the next evening). Two of the three said the committee had already metI wrote thank-you emails to all of my interviewers. Two of them actually replied back.
