Class of 2021 . . . how ya doin?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My professors: “please don’t wait till the last minute to study this material”
My brain: “ah yes, that sounds like a good idea! I’ll wait until the last minute to study the material!”
Me: pls help
My anatomy professor repeatedly said "no dilly-dally!" before our most recent anatomy exam.

There was soooo much "dilly-dally". So much.

Anyone else ever get the feeling that reproductive physiology itself multiplies when it is being studied?

Like at first you think you're just going to be dealing with sperm, and then this happens:

Spermatogonia
1° spermatocytes
2° spermatocytes
Spermatids
Spermatozoa
Spermiogenesis
Spermatocytogenesis
Spermatidogenesis
Spermatogenesis

Come on, buddy, slow your roll a bit there. No need for all this excitement

This just makes me think of:

Had orientation for my awesome externship program this summer and all day they referred to us as second years and it was weirdddddd.

The week before our first truly anatomy-heavy block exam = everybody cries now!

I'm doing ok, since I think I can pass and I know I'm a mediocre student here, but I'm pretty sure the majority of my class has cried in the past week. It comes up in conversation now.

Part I (written exam) done. I don’t think I failed it, but shoot I should have actually studied the pharm stuff. Part II (practical) is coming up this afternoon at 2. Eeeeeeeek. I’m either not as terrible as I think I am or I’m just wildly overconfident about my ability to pass. WHO KNOWS. Agh I guess I’ll find out in like two weeks.

Sigh, I’ve got 6-ish more weeks here. Someday summer will come, but then I’ll be in Guatemala for a good chunk of it. My summer got a lot shorter when I had to shuffle things around for surgery, but normal classes still go to the beginning of June!

I have one week left! 5 exams. 2 of them I would need very high grades to get an A, or 58% to get a B so I’m going to settle with a B. I must pass phys to pass the class so that’s stressful but doable. Anatomy lab hasn’t been graded yet, so I don’t know what I need to pass, but I’m sure I need to pass to pass. and then with immuno if I get a 90% on the cumulative portion of his exam, I can get an A!

Omg, I made it through year one and it is now SUMMMMERRRRRRRRR!!! Tonight I go back to working as an assistant on our ER service, and then in July I have an ER externship in San Diego! And my little walrus is still kicking. Will be making a decision likely in the next week or so, but I'm thankful to not have lost him during the actual semester. Good luck to everyone still finishing you, you got this!!! <3

Just killed my anatomy lab exam. It’s amazing how much better I can perform when I’m not drowning in depression. Can I just have this not-depression forever???
YAY! I’m happy for you! 😀 Anatomy has been a big struggle for me this semester. I just look at large animals and see a a giant mass of tissue and some cord-like stuff...also the “free for all” practical setup stresses me out for some reason. I didn't have high hopes for bumping up my grade with the final anyway. I’m just gonna keep path as the love of my life.

wow I thought I killed it but I barely passed. Oh well. We’re done with anatomy lab!!!!! :highfive:

Really counting on immuno to give me an A otherwise I will have none. 😢 But I’m out of the woods re: failing anatomy!!!!!

We can do it!! I believe in us!

We can!!!! One week!!! That’s it! And then we’re rising second years!

Speaking of this summer, once my Banfield mentor learned that I really like surgery/ want to do a surgery residency she started scheduling “field trips” for me at local specialists on my days off and I’m super super excited.

I’m so jealous of all of you who are done, as I plan out every minute of the next month of my life of studying! Terrified for exams :help:

The options were
A. To-do list
B. Video games and nap
So he was already planning on both those you highlighted if the second option was picked...
Unless you’re saying he should do the to-do list, play video games, and nap..... but like why
I'm still in school, I'm allowed to be brain dead with everything else

I’ll give you that. Ski’s picked up like a hundred mistakes I’ve made lately because:

a) I’m tired
2) my Brian is dead
Č) honestly I don’t remember the last time I slept more than 4.5 hours a night
I( my cares and long term memories are disintegrating away
$) Brian is dead
W) vet school is exhausting and I’m dead inside

Your numbering system is a tad off.....
Also, you need to sleep more. And also eat. And tell Brian to wake up.
