Oh and quick question: for those of you who were "fast-tracked", how long did it take from being complete to receiving the interview invite?
Yup fasTrack invite. Technically speaking though, there was an earlier date in the beginning of October, like the 5th or something. I waited to go to work that day to see my schedule. By the time I logged back on, the 5th was taken, so I had to get the later date. Oh wells!
Wow that's interesting. I thought they sent out fast-track invites before "regular" invites. I'm so confused.

I guess not. My primary was released on August 9, which was way after a bunch of others got non-fast track invites. Just by going with what the e-mail said, it looks like they just want the person to pick the earliest possible interview date quickly and send in the secondary/LORs later since those items can add extra time to the process.
Since your primary is the only thing they see to determine whether you get a FT or not, there is no complete e-mail, just the "we got your primary" e-mail. But you do have to be complete (secondary/LORs sent) before your interview.
Interesting. I got a got a complete email (those exact words) several days ago.
This is confusing 😕

Same here
Anyone know what the first interview date is here? I'm on the 27th.
Also, any clue how long it takes for a decision and how they notify?
First date is 9/6; last year's thread said 2-3 weeks.
Man, this school is efficient!
Primary transmitted 8/28
Secondary Sent 8/30 @ 12:00 PM
Secondary Submitted 8/30 @ 1:00 PM
Fast Track Interview invitation 8/30 @ 3:30 PM
I am impressed.
Congrats! Yeah they seem to be really on top of things. What were your stats?
I would love to go to this school however with the way DO schools play ball I can only afford to hold one acceptance and it would be foolish to turn down an acceptance to a school I have applied to. Is there anyway around these crazy 1000 deposits? or some how get more time before putting down the deposit?
my understanding is that you have till dec 15th to make a deposit except for LECOM (I think) so you can hold multiple acceptances until you have to make a pocketbook decision...yet another advantage to applying earlyI would love to go to this school however with the way DO schools play ball I can only afford to hold one acceptance and it would be foolish to turn down an acceptance to a school I have applied to. I have been complete for only a week. I guess I should be more patient haha. Maybe once they receive my D.O. letter in addition to my M.D. one, that will speed things up

Be happy: Target Field is hosting the 2014 All-Star game. 😀
Hey WorldChanger, I literally read last year's entire thread yesterday, and one guy did say he got his first $500 back when he got accepted elsewhere and withdrew. To me, $500 is worth my seat in med school, and I'm fully prepared to send in my deposit the second DMU accepts me, if they do in a few weeks.
Oh I am. Being a Twins fan, these last two seasons have been BRUTAL
How many letters you can/should send in? The instructions seem to leave some wiggle room for 4, as I think it may benefit me to send a DO letter complemented nicely by an MD one.

Imo, if a school asks for 3 and you know you have 3 strong letters don't send them 4. Three strong letters is enough and the fourth one can only bring you down.
hi guys...apologies in advance i know i read this somewhere, but have been searching and can't find the answer.
anyway...I have a DO letter, but its from a physician i have gotten to know, but never shadowed because she is a psychiatrist (can't really shadow a psychiatrist). does DMU require that its from a physician I actually formally shadowed?? Do you think they will accept this letter??
I will call Tuesday, but just wondering if any of you guys know anything about this. thanks!
