Well it sucks being right on the edge here. Thanks for the advice everyone! I guess I'll wait. It will give me some time to finish all these other secondaries...essay writing has replaced MCAT prep. No rest for the weary. 😀

It's still really early in the cycle and have some interviews already. Hold is better than rejection. We'll just see what happens 🙂
 
how long after being complete , did you guys learn about being on hold? and was it via email?
 
Has anyone interviewed at this school yet? Any idea how the interview day looks like? Are they asking just general question? I have my interview on 10/18 Hope thing go well for everyone good luck!:luck::luck::luck::luck:
p/s anyone from Bay Area CA applied to this school? Any Berkeley graduate? Vietnamese?

The first interview day is 9/6. I'll be sure to summarize my experience afterward. 🙂
 
Anybody coming on October 12? I received the invite on August 9.

The email mentions a panel interview. Can anybody explain what this is like?

You will be interviewed by 2-3 people, usually one student and 1-2 faculty members. Just remember to relax and be yourself. As cliche as that sounds, that's the best advice you can get.

For some reason I always imagine my interviewers being so impressed with me, they tell me right then and there I'm in. I cry a little, shake their hands, and walk out as the happiest person ever. Only in my dream world 🙄

On another note, I will be paying close attention to this thread the week before my interview (9/14) for some feedback from the interviewees the week before. Let us know how it goes and I will do the same!

No interviews yet for me but I was hoping KCOM would have something for me but they are yet to send me an II ... However I believe my masters program maybe to blame... They could be waiting until I have some grades to show them like the MD schools I have applied to.

Ha ha, thanks! I'm usually very good at looking at all that profile stuff but we're in the process of moving and the only Internet I have is on my phone. Kind of hard to do much of anything from the phone. Lol
 
Just joined the forums. Interviewing at DMU on 9/14 who else will be there with me?

So I'm looking at the list of student hosts, and most of them are female. I'm a male; do you guys think it would be weird to ask to stay with a female if there are no more available male hosts?

Also, none of the email links on the student host websites are working, so I can't contact any of them through email. 🙁 Do the links also not work for you guys?

The email links work if you use Outlook... PM me if you want and I can tell you the email address of a specific host if you're interested in one.
 
Does anyone know about rotations at this school? I heard rumor that it's possible to stay all 4 years in or near des Moines. Is that true?
 
My interview is one month from today! Starting to get really excited for this. I love Des Moines so much and and would love to go to med school at DMU!! 🙂

it's possible but it goes off a lottery system. i think the way they mentioned it to us is that they give you a list of places, then you give them a list of where you want to go as well as any considerations one why you should get your choice. at that point the lottery comes out. you can always petition or switch but when I asked in orientation, they mentioned that they are pretty accommodating to families.
