I think we had quite a bit of wait list movement this year... more so than in years past. It just depends on the number of applicants. Interviewing earlier will certainly help, but if you're on the wait list, you still have a chance of getting in! 🙂

Well that definitely brightens my mood. I interviewed 9/10 and was waitlisted. Thought my interview went well but maybe not well enough. I was under the impression that they accept a full class then stat pulling spots from the alternate list in May so I think I'm stuck until then. Sitting here hoping people that get accepted here have other top choices that will accept them

Ah. Well I think the wait list is divided into quarters, so if you interview early than there's a good chance you'll get placed towards the top of the list. Hopefully there's some good wait list movement this year, just like last year.

Actually, they place people into quartiles in May and then start moving people off the wait list in early June. I know this because I was one of the lucky ones who got off the wait list!

Interviewed here yesterday. The school is amazing. I think it's my #1 by far.

Where else did you interview and why was DMU the best?

DMU interview day was a weird experience for me. I was bored out of my mind all day, but I came out of it with a really good impression of the school. I didn't like that there isn't a parking garage though.. and there seems to be very little parking on campus as it is. The cafeteria is also pretty weak, but I guess that's good incentive to save money and pack a lunch. Great area though. My kind of environment.

haha, I also was pretty bored during the interview day. Ended up getting the same tour twice, and never saw the anatomy lab. But the students were incredibly friendly, and I got that close knit feeling. You get a lot of face time with several students at the interview, so use it wisely interviewees.

Nope. On that topic, has anyone who interviewed on or after 9/17 gotten a decision yet? Earlier this week it looked like interviews from that week were getting decisions and I was hoping mine would come on Friday.

I have been wanting to post since my interview but I have been so busy! I interviewed on Thursday too and I really loved this school. I see why everyone loves it so much!
I also had the pleasure of meeting quite a few SND'ers which was fun.
The Dudeliness is a fun guy to talk to and has some great experiences to share. BBGWC2009 was fun to talk to too!

Big Freaky definitely lives up to the hype 😛 Toytles stopped by for like 30 seconds. I felt bad for the students because they had this huge anatomy exam and they spent so much time with us rather than studying so that was much appreciated.

Overall, I can only reiterate what everyone else has been saying. I appreciated the smaller campus and closeness that students shared with each other. The curriculum is strong, the facilities are nice. Nothing but good things to say!

Hi everyone, I'm applying for the next cycle.
I was wondering if could tell me if my mcat score is competitive? I have a 28P (7PS, 11VR, 10BS). I'm worried that my PS score will bring my app down. Would you recommend I retake it or is my score still competitive. Also, I have a cGPA of 3.5 and a sGPA of 3.2.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your MCAT for this school, but they do love high GPAs...honestly your sGPA might be a little low. Are you done with school? If not I'd try to boost that up a little if u r really interested in DMU (idk if u actually r because u r posting this on a lot of threads). Hope that helps!

DMU is my top choice DO school.

He was really chill and answered all our questions very well. Also had my interview last Thurs on the 27th. If anyone is able to, I would recommend trying to find a host to stay with. Mine told me a lot about the school and what to expect during the interview (he was a student interviewer himself). Overall great school. Now lies the 2-3 week wait >_<

Got my official denial today (pre-interview) 👎 I thought they forgot about me because today is my official 60 day mark, looks like they really stick to that!

Sad because I'm a reapplicant and last year they put me on hold instead of outright rejecting me. I wonder what they saw potential promise in last year that they didn't think was worth anything this year 🙁


Ah well, DMU is a phenomenal school and congrats to everyone who has the privileged opportunity of interviewing!

I interviewed at DMU on 9/21...really quick turnaround!! Especially since they said expect a response in 2-3 weeks!
