You are right. They were sending them every week for 4 weeks. Now they haven't sent ANY in 3 weeks (at least none among our SDNers). 8/14 is the most recent I could find.

Hey thanks, everyone! I'm beyond excited to see this school in person! My interview is on Friday, heading out early to check out the city while I'm there. I'll be sure to post details once it's over!

Does anyone know if breakfast is provided on the day of the interview?

They give you very light refreshments - bottles of water or juice and have a basket of granola bars sitting out. You'll probably want to eat before you go.

Lunch is good, though.. you get a ticket to pick out whatever you want from the cafeteria and the food there is pretty good most of the time!

I haven't posted here in a while. I'm part of the first year class at DMU (class of 2016). I skimmed through some pages and am so excited for you guys! Major congrats. 🙂 DMU is a great school and I'm loving it so far! To those who are still waiting for interview invites, be patient and relax!!!

If you guys have any questions, feel free to PM me. I don't check SDN as often as I used to, so give me a couple days to reply. I'd be happy to help in any way I can!

Also, if you're planning on getting into town early, depending on the day and what's going on class-wise... I may be able to meet with you somewhere (for lunch or drinks or whatever) to chat about the school, interview advice, etc. if you want. Otherwise, I hope to see you guys looking shnazzy on campus! 😎

Next Thursday (september 13) looks good so far. We'll hammer out the details more as the day approaches.
 
I will be interviewing next Thursday (9/13). Any SDNers going to be there that day?

Also, how many interviews will there be? Seems like most schools have a faculty interview and then a student interview. What I got from reading past threads is that there is one 30 minute panel interview and that's it. Does that sound right?

Yes. The panel is one professor, one clinician, and one student.

Not necessarily. I had 1 professor and 2 students. It just depends.

But yes, generally a single 30 minute interview with 3 people.

Hey man good luck! Hoping for you you get into AZCOM and don't have to live far from the wife.
 
Interview is next week and I'm unsure of what to say for the "Why Des Moines/Iowa" question, other than DMU is there. Any ideas?
 
Just research everything you can about the school that you like and tell them about it.

Hey y'all so I don't get on here often anymore, but I'm also a first year at DMU. DMU is an awesome school. I moved to Des Moines after living on the east coast my whole life and am so glad I came here. I'm also an interview tour guide so I'll maybe see some of y'all on your interview day. Also they sent out the e-mail today looking for student hosts so if your low on cash trying to get to all these interviews you may want to check into that option. I'm not sure if the host list is posted yet but it should be soon. I stayed with a student when I came here last year and it was great! Feel free to PM me with any questions and I will try to get back quickly 🙂

I find this system to be very binge-n-purge though. Great for me, I have a good short term memory. Long-term not so much.

I'm worried about the Step 1/COMLEX. Prob gonna cry.
