I think so many people are in the same boat, but from what I have heard mostly they will just ask you about it and they know you've already applied to endo... I don't think people have problems getting into GPR because of the letters

Let's say you have 2 interviews on the same day (let's pick Wednesday) to school #1 and school #2. This day is the only day that these two schools do all of their interviews. Of course, you would be happy to go to either program, but you would strongly prefer to go to school #1. Then Wednesday night rolls around and school #2 calls you to offer you a position, and you accept. You cancel all of your remaining interviews to give other applicants their chance to interview. Then Thursday afternoon you get a call/offer from school #1.

Is it wrong to accept the offer from #1? My understanding is that it would be wrong to accept a position and continue interviewing because you are taking away interview opportunities from other applicants. What would be the best way to handle this situation?

Difficult decision if the interviews were indeed on the same day and the acceptances are just 24 hours apart. If you choose to switch programs, prompt notice is important. If this happens to you, maybe the best way to go about it is to talk to the director of program #1, let them know about your acceptance to program #2 and if they have any insights. In a situation like this, I believe all parties would be understanding. This is not how it usually works out though. Usually, the interviews are several days apart, at which time, it may no longer be appropriate to dismiss your acceptance to program #2.

Yeah this is a new thing this year as PASS no longer allows you to select which programs receive certain LOR's, rather they all see all of them. I personally told my evaluators to try to be more vague in terms of mentioning endo even though most of them were endodontists so that might give it away . I think GPR's will be understanding and if they think you're a good candidate it shouldn't matter too much if they know you applied to endo.

That's tough. It's one thing to interview and give a good initial impression. If they record, they can replay it over and over again probably dissecting each answer much more than it ever should be. Also, not really fair for you since they didn't record years past during more normal times. I would say no... BUT that may look bad since you want to go to the program. Honestly it's a lose/lose for you and a win/win for them since they can easily go to the next person in line. Godspeed with whatever you choose.

I assumed that they would. I would personally be fine with it, maybe with a clause that they delete it once the cycle is over.

I am actually starting to think that Zoom interviewing makes more sense than in person interviews.
