endodontic residency 2021 application

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi all, I have a question about the PASS application. In the "Check Status" section, under the transcript section for your dental school, does it say "Arrived" or does it say something else? Thank you!

Mine was a mess, and each transcript says a different thing. I asked PASS about it and they said it is not a problem, and application is still complete.

anyone know of any current D4s that have received interviews thus far?
I received an interview, but no luck so far. I think due to the increased number of applicants this cycle, it's going to be that much harder to get accepted straight out of school. But stay optimistic! Only about half the programs have sent out invites.

I interviewed at UoP and UW coming right out of school, and didn't receive any invites 2 years into private practice. Feels bad, man :-(

I hear you, but for this year the application is really competitive. A lot of programs are getting twice the number of applicants.
My hope is that as we progress deeper into the cycle, the people with multiple interviews will already have decided their destinations, so that will open up spots for other applicants.

It'll be interesting to see if the numbers stay high next year, or if this is a one off year. Obviously I want to get in this year and not have to worry about that, but we'll see how things play out. I hope you're right though about more interview spots opening up after other acceptances are handed out.

Is this because of COVID you think?

Do we have any evidence thus far of programs NOT notifying interviewees day-of or next-day regarding their acceptance status?

Almost all of the programs issue acceptances within 48 hours. Very few do not do this because the programs don’t participate in Match. So if you interview at a place and they like you, they don’t want to lose you to another program.

What about if the program has more than one interview date? Would they wait until 48 hours after the last date or if they don't accept you after your date that pretty much means they're not taking you?

Every program is different. Based on last year some have rolling admission- NYU and Columbia, others give out the evening of the last interview date Tufts, NYU Langone and UIC
Even then, people do drop once they accept if they get into another program so spots do open occasionally.

Louisville stated they will notify candidates 10-12 days after the interview.

Do programs in general notify you if you are not accepted or does it vary by program? What are people's experiences?

Some do by calling/email, most don't. If you don't hear anything assume you didn't get in.
Also heard from a buddy that Pitt had done some interviews already.

Edit: Confirmed that class is filled now.

So according to this thread, 25 of the 49 total programs have already sent out interview invitations... I applied to 20 schools and 15 of them have sent invites and I haven't received any yet. Should I be getting worried, or is it still early? I guess I picked schools that interview on the early side. Do you think it would be a waste of time to submit my app to the schools that haven't invited anyone yet or is it way too late? getting nervous... last year I received a couple of interview invitations by now, this year my application is far better than last so I was expecting more excitement in my email inbox

It could be due to the almost double the amount of applicants this cycle. Getting an interview is that much harder now. I would assume it's a waste of time & money to apply to the remaining programs now but that's just my opinion, others who know more than me might say otherwise. Most of them have probably already reviewed the majority if not all of the applications, and they have more than enough options to chose from. Try and stay positive. All you need is 1 program to say yes. If it doesn't work out this year try and stay in touch with the programs you're really interested in throughout the year.
