hey y'all, just another "choose between two schools" thread. Excited to have multiple acceptances and have narrowed it down to these two.

Anyone else in the same position or any current students/alums want to comment?

I know GW would be higher COA, tuition, not P/F. It is closer to home and I think it might be a better fit in terms of the student body/community (will use second look to figure it out). Wake is obviously lower COA, P/F, technically "ranked higher," has more research going on from what it seems as compared to GW.

GW's match list shows more people going to New England, NYC, and California, as well as the Northeast. Wake's list seems to be more bound by region.

go to wake forest :welcome:

If I remember correctly, GW is H/P/F.

Due to the grading and cost, I'd give the edge to Wake Forest, but both are good schools.

Oh yeah true. But I wuld mention GW has a 1.5 preclinical year, and ~11 weeks to study for step 1. And GW has a 1 exam/month preclinical set up, in addition to the one week long intersessions every other month.

I picked GW over two cheaper schools because I was absolutely in love with it, so if you're not in love with it, I wouldn't choose it based on the details U stated

1. Pick school based on cirriculum
2. Pick school based on location
3. Pick school based on opportuinity (dont choose for research if you will never do it)
4. Pick school based on cost

Winston Salem is probably one of the most boring places on earth (my ex went to Winston Salem State) so if you're from the northeast like me, it might take some getting used to.

Btw... Wake forest is about 4k cheaper than GW in COA which is not that significant to make a 4 yr decision over. Also, if COL is an issue, the outskirts of DC is reasonable In cost but obvy not as cheap as winston salem

Back when I interviewed at Wake, one of the selling points from the students was "not much happens in W-S, so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything when you have to study."

...I'd still go there and I actually found W-S nice, but I found it hilarious.
