Hi everyone. I was just wondering how the different Texas medical schools (including BCM) do grades for rotations during the clinical years (MS3 and 4). I know that the grading scheme varies from school to school. For example, TTU - Paul Foster SOM awards an Honors for either 75%ile and above on the shelf exam for a particular rotation + satisfactory remarks from evaluations on that rotation OR 55th%ile (not sure if it's 53) on the exam + excellent remarks.
For those of you in MS3/MS4 and beyond that attend/have attended a Texas medical school, could you please share how clinical rotation grades at your institution are determined? Also, if you have any comments you'd like to share about the grading process (whether it was fair, unfair, biased, etc.) would be really appreciated not only by myself but I'm sure many other people on this forum!
Thanks much, Happy Holidays!
