MSTP Research Interests:
The University of Wisconsin has both tremendous breadth and depth in our research endeavors. We consistently rank among the top 5 public universities in the country for research funding. The medical school includes among its $250,000,000+ in yearly grants the Carbone Cancer Center (one of 39 federally designated centers for cancer treatment and research), the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (one of 29 NIH funded sites), and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research whose fundamental goal is to link the most basic research to practical improvements in human health.
Please describe the research that you would like to do as an MSTP student at the University of Wisconsin to prepare you for a career as a researcher and leader in medicine. This may include specific scientists, laboratories, facilities or programs. (Limit response to 500 words.)
Life Activities:
Provide a chronological history of your life activities from the time you completed high school to the present, i.e. volunteer work, service work, research, participation in music, sports, etc., parenting, et al. We realize that this information has already been entered on your AMCAS application; however, when entered into the secondary application, it is formatted in a bar graph, which makes it easy for our reviewers to see an overall history. You may block and copy information from your AMCAS application. You may include one or two sentences or provide additional comments, if you wish to do so. Descriptions are typically two to four sentences in length.
Note: To complete this section, you must include a minimum of four activities total (more is better). You do NOT need to enter the activities in chronological order.
REMEMBER to click the blue Question Mark icon if you have trouble making the status of this page Complete.
Optional Essay
The Admissions Committee takes many factors into consideration when reviewing your application. A successful applicant is frequently one who communicates what makes them exceptional and why they will become an outstanding physician. You are invited but not required to provide additional information in this essay.
Some applicants tell us about hardships and challenges that they have faced in their lives and how these experiences have helped them become caring and compassionate individuals. Other applicants use this space to emphasize a particular passion they have related to their future career in medicine. If you are not a resident of Wisconsin, you may want to tell us why you are interested in the University of Wisconsin or about a special connection that you may have to our state or people who live here.
Our goal is to gain insight into you as a unique applicant. You may include anything in this essay that you feel is relevant. (Limit response to 500 words.)

In one sentence, how did you hear about the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison?
And.... lots of other address/other objective data. Mostly for residence/criminal activity.
