I'm gonna put @ksmustang to work a little on this one since he is a guy, haha
We have the most lax OMM dress code I have ever heard of. To this point, no one has been obligated to take off their shirts (we've done cervical, thoracic, lumbar, & ribs so far)
However - a T shirt and gym shorts/pants are expected. you have to take off you're shoes in lab so that is pretty flexible

Laptops are a required part of your tutition. You have to use these computers for all your exams, however if you want to take notes and day to day things on another one, you are allowed to do that

Do you know what kind of laptop you get? Brand and model number? Thank you!

anyone here planning on attending accepted students day??

This tends to vary from year to year honestly. They use to stick with Dell Latitudes but I think it's different now. One thing is for sure, it's going to be a PC unless the school hit the lottery or something.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! OMG Happiest day of my life! No, I don't have the birth of a child to compare it to! I'll be joining everyone on accepted students day

MCAT: 505/130/122/127/126 3.4c/3.5sGPA
Congrats!! When did you interview?

Two questions for current students:
1.) Are there any merit/service scholarships that Rowan offers to students?
2.) when should we begin to file fafsa? does parental income factor into this as well?

There are merit scholarships, I got a bunch of them (OOS so it helped a lot).
If I remember correctly the earlier you apply the better for scholarships. Best thing to do is look up financial aid on the Rowan website and email Christine Wilse (super nice and helpful) and she can explain the details. Congrats to you all, we can't wait to meet you all!

SO BEYOND EXCITED TO JOIN EVERYONE....
even though i've been waiting FOREVER for this, I can't wait to meet everyone!!!

stats: 3.7-3.9 GPA, MCAT: (old) 27-29
Awesome!! Congrats!! When did you interview?

Hope ill be hearing soon

Interviewed in late Jan.

Interview Day in a nutshell:
Got there and was greeted by the very lovely April Burton. Current students may come in and give you a pep talk, especially if they know its an interview day... There were some snacks and coffee available as well. We watched a video on Rowan and then met with Dean Watkins who gave us an overview of the day and some interview advice. Loosely summarized she said: be yourself, relax, and it's a huge deal being offered an interview so be proud. I would echo all of that. It's super chill. After the interview, you come back out and chat with the other applicants until everyone is ready for the tour. The tour is anywhere from 30 - 40 minutes. We go everywhere from the anatomy lab to the OMM lab to the classrooms etc (typical tour stuff). The tour guides/ student ambassadors are very helpful - ask them anything. After that, you can leave.

I honestly can't stress how relaxing this school's interview is. Enjoy it!!!! You never know, you might meet your future peers 🙂

when did you year back from them?

Accepted students day is March 12th where they talk about financial aid and stuff like that right? Also, how long does it take to receive the matriculation packet? Is it by email or snail mail? Thanks..

Interviewed last week 2/18, based on everyone elses trends about when should I expect to hear back? Seems like they're pretty fast with getting back to people.

Marisol said the committee meets the 1st and 3rd friday of every month. From that you should hear back on 3/4.

Congratulations everyone on your acceptance!

Does anyone know how long Rowan's interview season is?

I saw that their deadline for supplemental applications isn't until 3/15, but am worried about having submitted my secondary late. Considering that accepted student's day is 3/12, does that mean their application cycle is over early?

Accepted Student's Day allows currently accepted students to meet. It doesn't mean the class is full. I'm sure the class is at least half full already.

Hmm, I just got an II this afternoon, and I was complete 9/2. I've already put down a deposit somewhere... but NJ is much closer to home...

Take the interview and see, it may be a small cost in the long run if you are thinking about out of state.

Jesus... just got an II out of nowhere. I forgot I even applied to Rowan. What are the Pros/cons for this school? Information on USMLE/COMLEX scores? I have already put a deposit down elsewhere (ATSU-SOMA) and will most likely matriculate there as it gives me the best shot of returning back to California for residency as I will be able to do all of my rotations in the valley. Any peeps that can possibly help guide me a little better? Appreciate it!

Thanks so much for filling me in on this, @mathnerd88! Hopefully there's more openings for interviews! :bookworm:

ha... It seems like I am not the only one got an II this afternoon... Will it be ok if I still schedule to come to interview even if I already put down a deposit somewhere else?

I mean, there are a ton of positives at RowanSOM, I can't really contrast to ATSU because I never applied, nor have I been there. I can say according to SDN rankings of osteopathic medical schools, Rowan is at the top.

So from what I've seen, the committee meets every first and third friday of the month and they let students know who got accepted that friday and students who were granted interviews the following Monday? Does that seem right?

i just received II today, does anyone know if II this late means am I interviewing for wait list spot?

No, not necessarily. Based on the accepted students facebook group, the class is less than half full so there are still plenty of seats available. And even if you were to be waitlisted, don't worry. Rowan has a ton of waitlist movement in the spring and early summer.

Can you please list some of the pros and cons that you have come up with? I will be coming from the west coast so it will be a huge change for me. However, I have read that the rotations site quality are pretty good. I'm sort of in a funk now because I do not want to sell myself short when it comes to my medical education.

This is why I chose it but I'm also in state
37k/yr
Receives state funding
100% match
Decent research opportunities
3rd year rotations are taken care of for you
Top ranking
Really good match list
25 min from Philly

I am not sure about any cons. What else am I missing?

Anyone that just recieved an interview not see any dates to pick?
