I learned some news that I hope makes you all feel better! Dean Watkins (of admissions) was off campus on Friday and will be back Monday. My guess is she needs to give final approval for the admissions committee's decisions before calls are made. So let's hope for Monday calls! 🙂 (Though, another possibility is that we need to wait until next admissions committee meeting so she can be a part of the committee's discussions.) So let's stay hopeful everyone! 🙂

Rowan is definitely my first choice and I was heartbroken when I didn't receive a call as well. But it looks like no one else did either. So yay!

My parents wanted to come, so they'll be there. I didn't know exactly what they'd get out of it because it sounded like it was mostly for us.

i apologize if this has been asked and answered multiple times:

when do people get taken off the alternate list? is that second to the wait list? is there movement only at the top?

Last year I believe there were two lists, one was a hold list, the other was a waitlist/alternate list. The hold list gets seats first, once that list is exhausted then they will move to the waitlist. Movement on the hold list began in late spring, May I believe, and continued into early summer.

What time do you normally call? Try to call between 9-3 ET. Always has worked for me.

I spoke with her this morning at around 9:30am and she's the person who told me acceptance calls were going out by the end of the day. I'm sure you can call tomorrow to ask again.

April just told me that acceptance calls were not made yesterday and she does not know when they will be made. Hope this helps!

She said something along the lines of how "the committee still needs to discuss the decisions." I don't think she mentioned anything else. But you should definitely call her if you have more questions that she might be able to address.

Accepted Students Day is this Saturday - so admissions is really busy getting ready for that, continuing interviews, and making the decisions for you all 🙂
Just try your beset to relax, they will get back to you as soon as they've made a decision

Most medical schools have accepted students day anywhere between the end of February and the beginning of April. I would guess this is a period of time where admissions committees have some little amount of availability before everything starts to ramp up making final decisions for the incoming class and beginning to prep for the next cycle. Many people in our class were accepted after accepted students day - it's not too big of a deal so don't stress too much!

You should def call before 3. I think the line automatically goes to voicemail after that.

I called around 10:30am this morning and was also told that calls were being made. I think we shouldn't lose hope until like 5:30pm or so since normally they call around 4:30-5pm. Best wishes, everyone!

Given that they said they would call Friday and Monday and did not either of those days, I am still hopeful that they actually did not call out acceptances today. It seems unlikely that they would be in the middle of calling out acceptances from 10:30am until 3:30pm. Even if they were, I can't imagine them not contacting someone who would post on SDN. I hope we get a clear-cut answer soon. This process is fairly stressful but I'm hopeful that in the end things will work out.

Also, please post if you have any more information, especially if you received a call. We would all really appreciate it! 🙂

Congrats, I had the same interview day. They usually don't call that early it seems, maybe they're doing something differnt for these few applicants. Holding onto last bit hope!
