Scientifically Silly WW Game Thread

I'm going to smack you people who voted for Bryn.

Seriously that was on par with people voting for Kata and Bryn in those two games where they each cold-killed a wolf with Vig shots.
Really? You'll smack me and pip for our votes? It was really in our own best interest.

I feel like I would have held off on my vote either way. You said no voting until everyone role revealed and I actually thought you really meant everyone. Now I see you didn't mean vanillagers, so you were automatically excluded from your own game. Wolf, villager, chaos or neutral, I will always vote against the mass role reveal.

Well, that was circumvented the second Pippy made her chart. So it was already done from the perspective of a PR. Thus me asking that question as well.

You especially because I asked you to kill me N1 and you didn't 😛

I knew you gave me a funny look at dinner and thats why I tracked you D1

LOL! I gave you a funny look at dinner? That's just my face!

I did tell pip you asked to be killed, but she didn't want to kill you n1. I guess we really should have, but then I wouldn't have had your tracking results to "prove" I was the protector.

Worked hard on that thing

Dubz & Skim can attest to the level of extreme freakout I was having between ~noon yesterday and this evening

Was running every single scenario I could think of in my head trying to think about what was going to be the most viable sell. And was/am seriously sleep deprived, so it was NOT GOING WELL

lol I was having fun being stiff with you about doing it

Also, had to comment on this... come see me in 2-3 years. Patients ALWAYS come first, so yeah, today this game was very low on my priority list until I had finished taking care of patients and clients. I'm not sorry about that at all. I almost gave up tonight, but pip kinda gave me a pep talk and we gave it one last fighting chance.
Oh definitely. Just thought I'd tag you in case you were available

Dubz - I was going to genuinely thank you for my awesome role name:
Victors:
1. @PippyPony - The Backside Attack - vanilla wolf

But then I saw THIS in the write up:
I'll leave the rest of the entertainment to the wolves. Idk guys. Maybe you all should lynch pippy someday??
Gratitude rescinded.

@WildZoo i think @SkiOtter called it too iirc. And hopefully D3 counted lol. I went with it in D2 but changed last minute :sorry:
Yeah I've been kind of brain dead since...uh...Idk, night 1? Lol so I have no idea and would need to look back to figure out the timing

If @SkiOtter made it her official vote and kept it D2 though, she gets the prize

Comments on the majority lynch rules? How did ya feel about it?

Comments on this type of setup in general?

I was still not totally comfy with the wolf ratio (22% ugh) buuuuut a one wolf crew is lonely (and rough with 9 players). I did think this one was more balanced from a PR perspective than the last. BJ just got suuuuper unlucky with her seer targets.

Snippets from my full-scale meltdown in wolf chat at like 3am this morning:

****ing **** ****

Now it is harder to justify killing Cheezit, because confirming him as tracker is going to make it much harder for jil to pre-emptively role claim
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHGHHH

I'm so annoyed with this situation right now
Goddamn it, I just realized there is no way for us to win this game. I think.

FUDGE BROWNIES

We have too many vanillagers down. I can't claim vanilla without putting myself into a match race with the remaining vanillager, and we can't both claim a power role unless we have a death wish.

**** **** ****
Ok then.

Affiliation seer it is, better hope I didn't win the dolphin/bryndi sketch award.
Wait, that doesn't even make any sense, what am I even saying

They could have just jailed someone else or something

ugh.

Special thanks to @Animal Midwife and @Melchizedek for being obnoxiously right

Again, I think the setup was balanced, just some more human error, but nothing wrong mechanics wise.

Well, you already received my feedback at approximately 4am, I think lol

Yeah when you thought there was no way you could win 😛
Not sure I would agree with tipping things more towards the wolves in a setup where there is already (in my mind) a slight numbers advantage and extra knowledge advantage because you could narrow the setup down quicker based on your own roles.

*grumble*

I do feel like the numbers advantage -- while real -- was heavily, heavily nerfed by essentially starting in end game with power roles intact.

Oh and @PrincessButterCup I thought you was a woof because you were throwing shade around like you did in smash bros
Side note: this + her "echoing" of my own logic was what I was using as my own "reasoning" for lynching her. But then was going to use this against you by trying to spin it as sheeping my reads after she flipped.

Then I got stuck in traffic and had to teach my 1.5 yr old niece how to prank people, so didn't get a chance.

I think majority lynch rules should stop at some point, definitely at lylo. I mean we really only needed one villager to vote for another villager and we won the game. If majority rules were not in play, pip would have had to be much more careful about the timing of her vote.

Yeah, I just did the math and (unless I'm super wrong) there was mathematically only a 2% chance of me having seered both people who were going to die

That was the most involved I've seen people in a long time though and it felt really inspiring. There's been past lylos where votes were all over the board for no reason.

First game with majority lynch and I thought it was fun! This game was super tough from the standpoint of "I have so much information I want to gather, but it's only been 48 hours into the game and I don't feel like I have a firm grasp on ****". But that's just cause it's a smaller game (smallest I've played).

After Skim tried to claim protector, I was debating in my role PM whether I should wait, and see what reactions people had, or just vote to lynch her and watch everyone panic

I prefer games with the hammer vote/plurality/majority mechanic because it really makes people think about their votes and skips the RVS. I wouldn't mind seeing it more often here. As for a semi-open setup, I'm meh on it because it takes away the guessing game of figuring out game mechanics (which is one of my favorite parts) but it does add an element of analysis and logic that people should be paying attention to. Mass claim is a end of the rope, last ditch village move, so in theory we would have done it at LYLO and confirmed the setup, which would have nailed Skimble, and given us another day, at which point it would have been evident that Pippy pushing the idea that Skim was probably a village PR was her role fishing to find the actual village PR and we would have lynched her.

ETA: I'm curious why the wolves chose to seer Coffee? first of all people.

I called bull**** as soon as she claimed protector because Coffee was sketchy as **** D1 and I saw no reason that a village protector would have protected a sketchy player.

See, I don't think I was throwing shade. This is why I can't village. And also can't wolf.

I almost posted Pip as one of my wolf guesses in dead chat, but than went nah, it's not her . . . I never read @PippyPony as anything other than 'who knows.' :hilarious:

True true. I like the intensity it adds though. Such a small game and it still got to 15 pages in 3 days!

Yeah, and the "olive branch" bit made me laugh out loud (no offense skim)

At AMs request (from dead chat) 😍
AM: we gotta role reveal
Pippy/Skim: no no can't bad
Dolphin: meh but why
Pippy: let's do numbers instead
BJ/AM: k
Pippy: numbers statements facts theories
Pippy: let's role reveal
Everyone: OK
Everyone: Keeps talking
BJ: so are going to do this?
Everyone: OK
Everyone: Keeps talking

I don't know if it's some weird preemptive thing, but I've noticed in every lylo with wolf!Pippy, I feel compelled to explain what lylo is to her so ???
hahahahahaha it's so true

And meanwhile I'm over here freaking the **** out being like I AM AWARE, AM. THIS IS THE END OF MY WOLFY DREAMS, THANKS FOR THE REMINDER
