I am incredibly fortunate to be facing this dilemma right now, but I am wondering if I can get some input about this from students attending both UW and Alpert. I've heard different advice from different people so far. Some are telling me that the decision is an obvious one as UW is a "tier" above Brown, and it is known as being among the best within the medical community. Others argue that the disparity between UW and Brown is small enough that it can be neglected, and the very impressive Brown match list is indicative of that. I'm also impressed by Brown's facilities and curriculum. Thoughts?

Not a current student but when I interviewed at Brown in October they gave us all a list of probably 50+ students who were willing to be contacted with their emails, interests, undergrad, hometown etc. It was incredibly detailed and helpful. I am also deciding between Brown and a few other schools but I have found student input outside of SDN to be way more useful. Often these School X vs School Y threads devolve into arguments about the rankings and not meaningful discussions on curriculum differences, research opportunities, etc.

Just my $0.02
🙂

I appreciate the feedback. I'm definitely asking people outside of here as well. I just figured I would see what students from either institution on SDN thought as a supplement to what I learn outside of here.

Would you be paying instate tuition at UW?

Would you be paying instate tuition at UW?
Still not clear, but there is a strong possibility I will be offered a waiver for OOS tuition difference for last 3 years, so tuition would be almost equal.

Any current students at either school care to chime in?
